Just how it is. English is probably the most widely spoken language in the world. People watching the english broadcast (more so than other language broadcasts) can be/are from all over the world. Gotta be unbiased with that many different types of ppl watching.
Definitely not how it works based off a quick google search, what people are saying and the actual tweet from PRX. Whatever it is, it's a serious medical condition. You can't dodge military service in Singapore otherwise.
Peak viewership with china included is literally several dozen million in LoL. Lets not try to compare to LoL viewership. We're not hitting those numbers.
edit: https://www.cynopsis.com/11-10-22-worlds-2022-shatters-viewership-record/ 73.8 million peak for the 2021 LoL world championship final including Chinese viewers.
They literally had a dog run through like a second earlier lol
Yes, typing like I graduated high school = unemployed. Totally. You really owned me there. Good night.
Please stop acting like a child. You've said and continue saying nothing of substance or logic that would lead a reasonable person to believe your assertion. I'm clearly not the one who lost this argument.
edit: also fyi, capitalizing things for the sake of emphasizing points does not mean i'm heated. It's also very funny you chose not to actually address anything but respond with a nothing-burger
Wtf are you talking about? Valorant WAS NOT at a 1% PC bang play rate a year ago. Holy shit. You didn't win the stat arguments. The assertions you're making given what we've seen in the stats is absolutely absurd. If Korea is such a surging region, why didn't their representative in Ascension last year even making it out of group stage?
You keep referencing Overwatch but the circumstances surrounding this game ARE NOT the same. I have no doubt that Korea will manage to be more prominent on the global stage in the coming years but there is 0% chance you see the domination we've seen in LoL where they're taking champions year on year for long periods of time.
I'm clearly not the biased one to any reasonable person reading this discussion.
You're the one turning off your brain. Even with an ~80% increase in talent/player pool, you're not gonna go from a region where only a single team(now 2) managed to do anything ever internationally(with a best placement of 3rd in DRX, 2nd in GenG now) to a region that can systematically dominate EVERY SINGLE OTHER REGION.
You're the one clearly not using your brain if you think that's how it's truly gonna go. Keep watching Valorant. You'll wake from that delusion sooner or later.
Lol. My math is just fine. You're acting as if we've been far off these numbers for a long time. I might be recalling incorrectly but wasn't the PC bang rate at 5-6% like 18 months ago. So why hasn't Korea been dominating?
Also, you're being way too simplistic with that math. 1/4th as much popularity doesn't just automatically equal 1/4th as much promising pro talent (Not that they would actually be able to dominate with that number). When you have such a high play rate for LoL, the most promising talent is gonna flood LoL at a dis-proportionally higher rate. You can't just compare % play rate 1 to 1. Real life doesn't work like that.
You're more or less proving my point. 10% play rate. At its' height, Overwatch surpassed LoL with over 40% play rate. Valorant would have to hit that level of popularity for a sustained period of time for what you're saying to be possible.
Koreans may very well dominate Pacific but they won't do it globally. This game has never seen the type of peak in popularity in Korea that it has in Overwatch, LoL and brood war in the past. That's what allows/allowed Koreans to dominate everyone else in those titles. That doesn't mean they can't do well or even win an international title, like GenG has a good chance of doing tomorrow, but they're never gonna absolutely dominate everyone else. That's just not realistic unless Valorant becomes drastically more popular in Korea and can pull upcoming talent/youth from those other titles.
Yep but unfortunately they seem to have downgraded in the "brains" department.
They better show some innovation come stage 1 or as the year progresses or they definitely won't be coming near any trophies this year.
They definitely haven't peaked. They're average to terrible on like 3 maps. And ignoring split, they can also improve substantially on their other good maps. I'm not sure how you can logically call that peaking. As long as they keep grinding, they'll only get stronger as the year progresses.
Ok fair enough. Was just responding to your comment above/original unedited post.
Those are stupid comments but ultimately irrelevant. We're talking about a single person, JohnQT, who has expressed that playing while fasted has been a challenge. Nothing wrong with people wanting to commend him with that knowledge in mind.
Not everyone is the same. I personally have 0 issues with fasting and doing sports/other competitive activities. But that's not necessarily the case for other people/johnqt. Stop pretending as if your personal experience is perfectly representative of everyone else in the world. It never is.
The last time an EMEA team not named Fnatic beat a NA team. lol
Not saying this trend will continue but it's honestly very funny.
Randomness is the only way to make it fair. You, nor I have any idea how strong the teams are compared to each other. How would it be fair to penalize what potentially could be the strongest team for winning a close series against another team that could hypothetically be the second strongest team in the tournament? How would it be fair to reward what could potentially be a mediocre team smashing what could hypothetically be the weakest team in a tournament by far?
I'm not saying this describes what's happened thus far in this tournament, but in any tournament with this format (where you aren't in groups and given the chance to play all other teams in said group), you can't just arbitrarily decide all teams are equal and use hyper-specifc criteria of performance (maps/rounds won) when you don't have the same opponents. It doesn't make sense to do that.
You're talking about non-existent seeding. The only thing that matters in swiss is whether you win or lose your match. 1-0s vs 1-0s and 0-1s vs 0-1s all randomly drawn. That's it.
Said the brain damaged fan.
It's been more than 3 years. This sort of logic doesn't apply anymore. Valorant and CS are NOT the same game. If all of the CS talent switched over right this moment, do you know what would happen? The vast majority of them would get shit on because of all the differences and how much valorant has evolved in the last couple of years. Sure, some might be able to adapt pretty quickly but most wouldn't and might not even be able to in the long run.
The "best players" are playing Valorant right now in T1/T2.
N4rrate. Not even close. Without his flexibility in agent selection, not sure this is even possible.
Yes, just like there was no way Fnatic would lose to KC. ^_^
No lowers are shit but he's absolutely right. I can't fucking believe Fnatic didn't change any of their comps.
I can't believe they haven't changed comps. They've essentially eliminated any advantage that would have come of having all that groups footage of KC's lotus.
The logic you're using is nonsense. If all of Optic's achievements were so easy, then why didn't other teams accomplish the same during those time periods? Especially as a fan of Navi, who was grouped twice last year, you really have no legs to stand on.
You can call the Optic core shit if you want but then Navi is most definitely less than shit.
Optic Core besides Reykjavik:
Masters Berlin 2nd place
Masters Copenhagen 3rd place
Champions 2022 2nd place
Masters Tokyo 4th place
Keep trying, you aren't going to convince anyone that optic/envy weren't a great team.
It's pretty hard to believe they haven't rigged it at this point.
No way unfortunately. NRG have too much footage of Sen.
Lol, they're definitely playing differently. Whether it's intentional or not doesn't really change that.
your map math is OFF
Lol wtf are you talking about? His analysis has been very good this event. Are you just brain-offing just because he's from LoL?
