Yeahh feels a bit like oxy aim.
Hype becuz hes radiant #1 (asia-pacific) and top 5 (global) for the past 5 acts.
Current act #1 global also. Ranked demon for sure.
But whether he will perform on his first international debut on a single-elim round would be another story.
Definitely caught a lot of attention, whether to glaze him or to shit on his performance of his first match.

FNC — 12pts
TH — 10pts
FUT — 9pts

FNC actually needs 1 more win (13pts) to 100% guarantee Champs.
Because if TH wins 1 more, they will be 8-2 in Groups and topping the groups gives +1pt so TH will have 12pts (tie with FNC if FNC loses to TL). (FUT can get max 11pts).
And because TH v FNC h2h record is 2-0 this VCT, TH will be considered first in points.
So yeah FNC needs the final point, (unless TH loses to KOI, then FNC will stay ontop even with 12pts).

swaglord9000 is insane no? (I dun watch their games but their name deserves a support by default).

PRX — 16pts
Gen.G — 15pts
DRX — 10pts
Team Secret — 7pts
Rex Regum Qeon — 6pts
Talon Esports — 6pts

TS will qualify by points only if all top 3 points (PRX, GenG, DRX) make it through by playoffs, otherwise they have to get to top 3 themselves (beating both TLN & DRX).

posted 5 months ago

DRX
Champions 2023 — #5th - 6th
Champions 2022 — #3rd
Champions 2021 — #9th - 12th (MaKo, stax, BuZz, Rb, k1Ng, Lakia) as Vision Strikers

——————

DRX missed Masters Reykjavik 2021 (as VS), Masters Madrid 2024 and Masters Shanghai 2024 tho.

posted 5 months ago

Paper Rex missed the 1st Masters Reykjavik 2021 & Champions 2021, apart from that they made it to all international events since 2022 onwards.

PRX, on their 9th International Attendance Streak, including Champions 2024.

posted 5 months ago

FNC
Champions 2023 — #4th
Champions 2022 — #5th - 6th
Champions 2021 — #5th - 8th

And as long as they win 1 more (against Team Liquid) they are 100% guaranteed Champs 2024 (due to safety net points).

——————

FNC missed 2 Masters (Berlin 2021 & Madrid 2024) tho.

Don’t think there’s a clear favorite this champs.
Every region looks good competitively right now, and a lot of teams that were previously not given the chance to shine internationally can finally prove themselves.
4 teams per region is perfect. (Unless 1 region subsequently gets decimated by every other region this champs then there should be a consideration to give them less slots imo).

posted 5 months ago

I’d assume better than EDG for sure since EDG always gets decimated internationally somehow (and gets a lot of shit from Chinese fans)
It’s finally time for FPX to shine. CN watchers have been hyping them up since forever.

You’re wrong.
Head-to-Head records first before map records and round differentials unless it’s a 4-way tie.

PRX wins against RRQ/Gen.G = Top 3

Next in line to qualifies through points will be Gen.G (15pts)—if they lose to RRQ or if they win against RRQ but loses to PRX and also loses their lowers match (does not make top 3). No matter what, Gen.G is guaranteed champs as long as PRX makes top 3.

But if Gen.G makes top 3 as well, the next in line would be DRX (10pts) to qualify through points, if DRX makes top 3 as well, it will be TS to qualify through points (8pts).

posted 5 months ago

I’m pretty sure it’s all VCT Champions Tour 2024 events, so counting all Stage 1, Stage 2, Playoffs, Madrid, Shanghai, etc.

posted 5 months ago

PRX have 16pts, Gen.G have 15pts.

SEN have 12pts, LEV have 11pts, 100T have 10pts.
SEN needs 13pts (win against G2) to guarantee Champs since LEV and 100T can both get 12pts if they win all their remaining games.

If points are tied they are determined by H2H records against each other.

posted 5 months ago

FPX too.
EDG and FPX are in different upper brackets, even if they both loses their first match, they will meet in lowers and one of them will make it to top 3, so the other 1 will be qualified through points for sure.

SEN need 1 more win (against G2) to qualify for Champs 100%.

posted 5 months ago

Ohhh you’re right, FPX & EDG are 100% guaranteed right now, even if both of them loses their first match, they will meet in the lower bracket where 1 will make top 3 no matter what and subsequently the other will automatically qualified by points.

So PRX, EDG, FPX are 100% for Champs right now.
Gen.G has like 95% chance.

posted 5 months ago

SEN would need to win their next game against G2 to be 100% guaranteed for Champs.

SEN has the highest points — 12pts right now.
LEV has 11pts and 100T has 10pts, but if both of them win their remaining games, they could both get 12pts (tie with SEN) and it would boils down to H2H records against each other, followed by map differential.
So for SEN to 100% guaranteed for Champs (points as safety net), they need to win against G2 next (for 13pts).

posted 5 months ago

PRX is already 100%.
Yes, RRQ has to beat BOTH GenG and PRX, and then for PRX to loses in the lower bracket (so PRX don’t make top 4 for Gen.G to not make champs, which is a pretty low chance).
That’s why I said depending on PRX troll level.

posted 5 months ago

Kinda, since EDG/FPX are both in uppers, as long as 1 of them win their first game in playoffs, both will guaranteed Champs (due to points).

posted 5 months ago

I know it’s all double-elim from start to end, so it shouldn’t matter much (there will be 16 even teams so no one gets a bye). I’m not 100% sure how the seedings work, but probably those that qualified as their region 1st seed won’t play with other regions 1st seed for their first match.

posted 5 months ago

The games for PRX matters not at all.
They can lose all their upcoming matches and they will still make Champs.

They have 15 points right now (tied with Gen.G as topping the groups gave them additional +1pt), but they have a better H2H record against Gen.G so they are counted first in points (winning against ZETA would put them at 16 points, but doesn’t matter really).

Now it’s just a matter of whether they troll Gen.G by playing shit (Gen.G would have to make top 3 themselves) or not.

PRX, EDG & FPX are confirmed for CHAMPS 100% (purely due to their points as safety net).

(EDG & FPX are both in uppers but different bracket, so even if both of them loses their first game, they will face each other in the lower bracket and 1 of them would be guaranteed top 3 while the other would go through points so they are both 100% in Champs)

posted 5 months ago

Yes, unless RRQ underdogs BOTH Gen.G & PRX.

posted 5 months ago

Ohh right that make sense, I forgot about the additional point for topping regulars.

posted 5 months ago

You are right, but if I’m not wrong as long as Gen.G wins against TS today they are guaranteed champions through points no matter what (16 points), PRX has 14 currently and even if they win today it will be (15 points).
But if Gen.G loses but PRX wins today they tie 15 points. And one of them have to top 3 for the other to secure champs.

So the safest is actually winning today.

posted 5 months ago

If Gen.G beat TS today:
Gen.G (3rd Seed) vs. TS (6th Seed) rematch for playoffs — Winner vs. DRX.
TLN (4th Seed) vs. RRQ (5th Seed) playoffs — Winner vs. PRX.

If TS beat Gen.G today:
TS (3rd Seed) vs. TLN (6th Seed) playoffs — Winner vs. DRX.
Gen.G (4th Seed) vs RRQ (5th Seed) playoffs — Winner vs. PRX.

posted 5 months ago

PRX cook some new comps as final experiment pls, since uppers playoffs already secured.
