Hi I new to VCT and I watch champions and NRG Skuba is very very good. Like hes one of best players itw. But I find out he was on Sentinels before NRG??? Why Sentinels didnt put him in?? He could play sentinel or smokes and sub in for either of their two worst players?? and even if they didnt want to play him why let him go to their competition???

I am new to vct so pls explain why?? Is sentinels stupid??

NRG Verno punches FNS – Nobody expected the MVP of SOOP to be instantly cut after Kickoff.

Every iconic NRG meme comes from a collapse that no one saw coming.

Now, let’s look at Stage 1. NRG were awful—but no new memes were born. Why? Because expectations were already in the gutter. Every blunder was met with a shrug: “Well, that’s just NRG.” Nothing new, nothing meme-worthy.

Riot knows, though. They know a huge chunk of the VCT fanbase lives off these legendary collapses. And for a new meme to be born, hope for NRG must first be restored. Even the biggest NRG glazers like Dort, Asuna Yukki, and Simp4s0m had abandoned ship. So Riot gave NRG what they needed most: belief.

In Stage 2, they played well and finished 2nd. At Champs groups, they went flawless. And now, with NRG guaranteed top 3, nobody in their right mind doubts them.

On pure duelist ability, Keznit is far better than Zekken. The stats from their direct matchups make this undeniable.

First Kill / First Death and Head 2 Head:

In their head-to-head series, Keznit consistently edges out Zekken in first kill/first death numbers. In the series that the two played each other in the last two years (the years that both Keznit and Zekken were both on pure duelist), Keznit outperformed Zekken with a 11/3 FK/FD to Zekkens 8/8 FK/FD. Keznit also domianted Zekken winning 12/9 fights against him. Duelists are measured by their ability to secure opening impact, and Keznit delivers this more reliably than Zekken, while also domianting him individually.

Duelist Agent Pool:

While both Zekken and Keznits duelist pool is extremly similar in terms of the meta Raze, Yoru, Neon, Keznits Jett stands head and shoulders above Zekken’s. Even the biggest Zekken fans can not deny that his jett is by far his worst duelist especially when on the operarator-a cornerstone of Jett-something that Keznit excells heavily in (I mean look at this clip on the biggest stage in the world I dont see Zekken doing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qidu_oii6Us )

Not Carried, but Carrying:

Keznit doesn’t need to be propped up, he is the one doing the heavy lifting. In KRÜ’s matches, he is consistently the top fragger. Zekken, by contrast, thrives only when his teammates set him up, the only time Zekken is able to find success on the stage is when his teammates carry him-which can be seen in the difference of SEN between 2024 and 2025, in 2024 Zekken was not SENs best player or their carry the role being filled by TenZ. When Zekken was forced to step into those shoes Zekken did not perform and SEN this year has not placed as high as their lowest intl result in 2024. They have not even been able to win a regional trophy.

Put both players on the same team, with the same structure and support, and the result is obvious: Keznit would outperform Zekken. His superior FK/FD stats, deeper duelist pool, and ability to independently carry rounds prove that he is the stronger duelist in every respect. Strip away the hype, trophies, and team narratives what matters for a duelist is raw fragging power and the ability to win opening fights. By that metric, Keznit is flat-out better than Zekken, and frankly the fact that people think hes not is borderline racism.

imo if G2 are looking to splurge next year they should get Zekken since his contracts up-he can play init/flex and 2nd duelist

I can see that argument-however I also believe that team form is what matters most, an argument im seeing is that Tokyo was a fluke because Something was unable to make it-however I believe since the winners (FNC) were able to replicate their success at the top level (not necessarily winning but still being a top team) that is not a fluke win since the team was still able to replicate their results elsewhere.

For that same reason I believe T1 to be a fluke as they had an extreme stroke of good luck of all their players hitting their stride at the same time and managing to win. T1 did not have any unfair advantage (unless you say the tournament format, as some are which is not an advantage, as every other team had it) but I would still call their run a fluke on the basis that they were unable to replicate ANY of their success (again, success here is not defined by winning but by being a top team where as this T1 after and before Bangkok could barely be called a "good" team)

For me a fluke tournment is a tournment where the winning team has only been able to play at the top level at THAT tournment. I will use the example of EDG 2024 as it is very recent-EDG 2024 Champs (S1mon/Zmjjkk/Chichoo/Nobody/Smoggy) won china stage 2, won champs, then got 3rd at bangkok. That is not a fluke as prior to and after they still performed at the top level. If a team makes roster changes after a win and then falls off that is not a fluke-that is just a team being unable to play again.

The only 2 I would call flukes with confidence are:
ACE Champs 2021: FLUKE were not a top team prior (Losing to 100T with assuna nitro hiko steel? really?) and after were ass (when you have to sub in purpo you know the roster is cooked)
T1 Bangkok 25: FLUKE Did not qualify with the 5 who won, did not mange to replicate success after and bombed out of regional playoffs with a whimper

If you want my full reasoning for any other tourney they are behind the spoiler-the ones I say I find contentious (I dont think they are flukes but I could see the argument and could be swayed) are SEN 21, FPX 22, SEN 24,
