Because of how the seeding works (with no regional match ups) it makes region vs region a very likely outcome.

PRX looked straight up worse than DRX in pacific and out of all the pacific teams. G2 can only face PRX no other outcome was possible. Lev was always gonna face one of the worse teams in champs because they are the number 1 seed. I have no clue what you mean by saying talon is practically an NA team but ok.

Riot does esport as a business not for the most competitive esport ever. thats why you are only allowed 1 import player, partnership teams etc

Trace is the most middle of the pack team ever. they dont beat anyone better than them and they dont lose to anyone worse than them. I would bet on any other chinese team doing an upset but hey its an international event, maybe trace will prove me wrong

how so? china has the best production and it isnt close, stage design (they also had two for stage 1 and play offs) trophies, walk outs and best bundle promotion it has the team bundles show up everytime a team wins a pistol round and shows their win percentage and a QR code to go buy the bundle. Biggest stadiums, loud crowds. the only negative is that china has chinese castors so if you cant understand chinese its a lil weird. but if you do understand chinese it clears every region with ease

if you import a coach does that mean you can no longer import a player?

Group D is the hardest to get out of if you consider the current form of the teams, but Group B is the most interesting on to see how on form each team is. Peak fpx, Peak GenG, Peak Sen and Peak TH would be an insane viewing experience and genuinely anyone could win it

I wouldnt call it an upset, FPX last international played close games with GenG and heretics, Sen on the otherhand couldnt win out domestically.

BLG and FPX have good upset potential, Kru has a good chance too. I see talon making a single upset before being grouped. Overall all the teams are pretty good. I wouldnt call any result in group D an upset.

GenG is the only team to look as good as they did in madrid. And rejk should be obvious M3C had a terrible schedule with a terrible chance to qualify, FPX the number 1 seed couldnt go, Fnatic had like 2 subs. I mean considering fpx won the next major. Rejk just looked incredibly fluked

EDG dont have coach change, After is still their head coach he was just in taiwan taking a break, I believe that for champs he will be back again. The igl change is big, S1mon is an ok fragger middle of the pack kinda guy with good utility, nobodys igl is shaky rn but in the right direction overall a huge upgrade from when haodong was playing. It all depends on how prepped edg is.
