How important are eco frags??

My team yells at me all the time for getting eco frags but if i dont get eco frags and we lose the round we get eco'd?? So eco fragging is actually really good??

eco frags are obviously important, your teamates are probably yelling at you for chasing eco frags and getting picked off rather than playing normally.
