How the fuck do you play solo queue??? (inb4 "i don't")

Astra is the only controller I can't play cause my team never looks for info, they can't play on my util and can't communicate properly. I can play all the other controllers even if my team can't play together, but Astra seems too dependent on the rest of the team.

Usually when playing with friends, I have one that picks Astra on Haven/Split and we can play some good games because of communication and stuff.

agreed. especially because omen is also easier to use. some times low elo players dont hold angles, and being in astral form leaves you kinda vulnerable

Yup, played one game as astra and went like shit, picked Omen on the next game and played smoothly, I guess it's better to play Astra onto when I have friends on lobby

Astra is the only controller I can't play properly, I usually play Brim/Omen on most maps and Viper on Icebox/Breeze, maybe people can't take advantage of her util on lower team plays lmao

It's rlly 50/50 on whether or not they listen. Sometimes you just gotta use your utility on yourself if your team doesn't listen. Atleast that's my approach

i am a gold astra/viper main. when i solo, i play chamber. it's the only solution.

I always picked the agents my team needed and learned most controllers/sentinels, now I'm trying to play more initiators to increase my agent pool, but I left Astra behind and it felt like a gap on my player skill

i can play any agent in the game except Omen, and initiators are my least favorite. it's hard to anchor without smokes or trips, it's hard to attack without comms so ppl can play off ur utility, etc. Plus initiators just aren't fun for me.
Astra is still a lot of fun when I duo with my KJ friend or trio with a Sova added as well. Just came back from a 3-11 yesterday, aced the last round to win 14-12 with 29 kills on her.

Can confirm, tried learning her in plat but it's impossible. My tip is, if you really want to learn her (she's pretty fun to play tbh) you gotta duo or trio bro

I have a lot of friends playing val so it's easy to make a full stack or at least trio but I'm not gonna lie it feels weird not being able to perform properly with friends, that's why I like to try new stuff when soloing, but I will take your advice thanks!

ok so basically on defense just put a smoke+suck at each site entrance, save the last star for a rainy day. it doesn't have to be big brain, esp for me i'm in gold lmao. on attack, just learn a few default smokes for each map and do that every round until ur team chooses a site. for example, on haven i put a suck for a long, stun for a short, and smoke for garage window. i can use them if my jett is running up a, or i can pull them back and save them.
sitting in smokes w a shorty is also a HIGH SKILL play.

I do that a lot with Omen/Viper/Brim hahaha, with Viper is great cause you have the poison effect, once killed 2 dudes with 2 shots on shorty

brimstone is like a 24/7 sandstorm in his smokes, shit is so funny. same with viper ig. bubble smokes are weirder for sure lol.

it's hard, but i just use util while looking at map and tried to get the timing right since team don't comm, silver elo and all. I relied on fragging on pretty much all of my astra games.

not low elo but i am an astra main. Astra is viable in all elos but you gotta have a different play style per rank, playing mroe selfish is fine on astra at around bronze-low gold
