NA: 2 slots + 1 LCQ
EMEA: 2 slots + 1 LCQ
These 2 are exactly the same way for VCT 2022. No changes.
BR: 2 slots
LATAM: 1 slot
LCQ: 1 slot (LATAM vs BR)
SA had 4 slots in 2021 too. 2 for BR, 1 LATAM and the 4th slot at the LCQ. What they did for 2022 is removing 1 guaranteed spot from BR to add it to the LCQ to give LATAM a chance to get a 2nd slot.
Considering how strong some of the new BR teams look, it will still probably be 3 BR teams and Kru, but at least LATAM get some official matches against BR teams. Quite excited for that.
KR: 1 slot
SA: 2 slots
JP: 1 slot
LCQ: 1 slot (APAC)
For 2022, they added a 2nd slot to the LCQ, removing the free slot to champions for winning a masters like Gambit did in 2021. Also dividing APAC slots in 1 for APAC N and 1 for APAC S.
Slots for ever major region remained unchanged, except for APAC that got 1 slot more (deserved) that was previously given to Gambit for winning Masters Berlin.
PD: Champions should get at least 24 slots. 16 is not a lot considering how competitive the game has become since release. Hope things change for 2023.
