If being in the same mass of land means they are the same continent, Eurasia exists. If i remember correctly the only natural separation between Europe and Asia are mountains in Russia and some water in Turkey.

They are considered different because of cultural differences, not territorial. I dont know why they dont use it for America, but imo is because is more complex and the whole America but Canada + EUA are that different. Mexico is NA but is also LATAM and if you say that NA and SA are different continents, not just different regions, you'll have a problem with Mexico + Central America.
