is my man in the goat discussion yet or do we need G2 placing high in champs this year first
I mean I'm a big G2 fan, ever since the Guard core made it to there first LAN. Additionally as a large Ethan fan I watched that entire season with EG closely and really fell in love with Jawg's Raze in particular, as well as Potter for make that turn around as well as her teams creativity with compositions (C0M Sova Fracture). So I watched the year after with the Supa, Derreck, Nature core and was disappointed in the teams performance but Jawg did his best with a new core in a year where teams like SEN and LEV were quite strong. Overall I think Jawg is a great player on a great team, in addition my personal favorite, but when it comes to the GOAT conversation I think he misses out. You have players like Chronicle and Sacy with there periods of individual dominance and just sheer amount of accolades, players like Derke for being the star on what still is the most successful Valorant team post franchising, as well as Aspas for his continuing statistical dominance. Not to mention Tenz with his early individual dominance with C9, then early SEN. Followed by changing roles and being one of the most impactful players in his final year as a pro. And ZmjjKK, who brough China to the world stage and won a trophy where frankly almost no one expected EDG to. Idk I love Jawg and I could definitely see him getting into this conversation by the years end, G2 seem to really have some excellent stuff going. But I think that Chron, Sacy, Derke, Aspas, ZmjjKK, Tenz and possibly a few others are simply more qualified at this point in the games life span.
TLDR: Not at the moment, players like Sacy, Chron, Derke, Aspas, ZmjjKK, Tenz and others have more on there resume, but if G2 win this year he can certainly join the conversation.
Sadly he shouldn't be in the discussion at the moment, his only achievement was champions 2023 and Tokyo's 2nd place (and now Bangkok's 2nd place).
Last year EG didn't even make playoffs so Jawgemo stonks went down, he needs one more title to be closer to the most successful players like Chronicle, Sacy, Aspas or even Tenz.
Now, in the Americas discussion, he should be top 3 at least
