please make NA+SA separate man
we have some stinkers but this YFP team convincingly beat 2g on stage who ascended yes I know but we are seeing still put up some fight (and on stage it was -thief +add3r) and just now got stomped by TSM
there is no reason why NA + SA franchising cannot have 12 teams each, there are the orgs for it
for me in my mind it is the same as China being separated from SEA
Yes there will be some stinkers from both regions sadly but there is so much talent in both regions and they both have big separate viewerbases
I could even list a mock-up for orgs for NA and SA right now:
NA -
Stay: 100T, C9, EG, NRG, Sen, G2
New: Envy, TSM, Shopify, M80, FaZe (new roster), Any NA org that wants to join as 12th (complexity?)

SA:
Stay: Furia, KRU, Lev, LOUD, MiBR, 2G
New: E-XOLOS, FUSION, 9Z, Shinden, paiN (new roster), RED Canids (rebuild maybe)

Please man.

Okay but 5 is an odd number and idk if there is enough talent for that

there is enough talent in NA+SA to make good teams imho
they decided to do China and there was enough talent that cropped up as well. if players know they have a path to T1 they are more willing to grind and be better and it's more attractive to talent.
5 is an odd number sure but they could still make it work and honestly I feel like it'll be necessary for the health of the game going forward, ESPECIALLY for Brazil + LATAM. FURIA, LOUD, MiBR are established so that's 15 slots only for players. 2g is ascended and an option but iffy. LEV is almost fully american now and KRU is national. there is just no room for people. it's bad.

I mean, comparing any region to a 1.3 billion population country is kind of unfair. of course there is gonna be enough talent because the talent pool is simply too large

its not about population, its about playerbase, they have 1 million playerbase latam has 500k, and thats without counting brazil which has 400k, that means if you mix brazil and latam you have almost as much playerbase as the most populated country itw

playerbase ≠ talent pool 30-40% of valorant players are women (old ahh study ik) but there is only 1 player who identifies as a woman in tier 1. External factors need to be considered like social barriers, cultural acceptance of esports, and disposable income. Looking at talent pool is way better than looking at playerbase metrics

the talent pool in latam grew a shit ton recently, in fact there is a orgless team on upper and even kru´s partnered team who has insanely talented players got out of playoffs by h2h difference

not really tbh. I know the Tier 2 scene in brazil is worse than NA, and I can confidently say NA tier 2 talent pool is strong, but I am not confident in 25 players over the age of 18 being Tier 1 worthy.

if players know they have a path to T1 they are more willing to grind and be better and it's more attractive to talent.

this can be true but there's not really any data to back it up. A lot of players just grind because of passion tbh, but it is true that more people would attempt to go pro if the scene was more stable and viable. That being said, this isn't meaning players would get paid more; assuming investment in the scene stays at a similar level, better tier players would get paid less or (if league minimum wasn't a thing) new players would get paid close to nothing, meaning the average salary would drop and the scene would be even less stable.

I also want to add in here that I believe this would disincentive investment into the esport, which should be 100% priority over this. Currently, you are competing against 47 other teams for an international title, but with this change, you would be competing against 59 other teams increasing competition. If competition goes up, profitable and investment goes down.

ESPECIALLY for Brazil + LATAM. FURIA, LOUD, MiBR are established so that's 15 slots only for players. 2g is ascended and an option but iffy.

You gotta remember all of brazil was dead last at the end of last season. A lower amount of teams increases the short term performance of a region by condensing top talent, and if brazil struggles with this currently this would just make brazil suffer much much more than if top talent spreads out. (I will say there is potential for it to incentivize future talent to grow, however I believe spreading out the talent by 3x would outdo the potential talent growth. Anyways, Tier 1 shouldn't be a place for talent growth, a better solution is to better invest and manage Tier 2).

LEV is almost fully american now

I think this just proves my earlier point, NA is stronger currently and it made sense for LEV to use an NA roster. We shouldn't give more slots to a weaker region.

5 is an odd number sure but they could still make it work and honestly

No. We'd have swiss stages at every international, 5 groups at champs, it'd be a whole mess. Unless you have a REALLY strong way around it we're just gonna have 2024 kickoff again at every international. This and the increased competition for investors are the 2 biggest problems with it

2G got a map out of KRU and beat LOUD. They also curbstomped TSM and won against everyone in ascension at least once besides Galorys. Disrespect is insane 💀💀💀💀

I'm not disrespecting them, in fact the opposite.
I said YFP (with only -thief +add3r) convincingly beat 2g on stage and yet they're rotting in t2 while 2g is making progress in t1 and looks solid. if 2g is able to make progress in t1 while that YFP team can beat them, YFP could also make progress in t1.

I am very impressed with some mexican players
a mexican national team could form eventually with seven, mephisto, pompz, navarro and whoever you think the best IGL is, it could be an interesting team to watch

Make FENIS Mexican and we thriving, But I am very disappointed how segrigated the League is. Like why can't we have Tier 2 team qualify for tier 1 tournaments just like in CS? I hate how Liot wants to control everything from casters to the game as a whole, if they REALLY want to be better than CS they have to let their community THRIVE just like the CS comminty
