to be fair, it would be almost impossible to reduce to 6 franchise team, it would purely and simply mean the death of Valorant in some market.
We need at least :

1 KR team (But we need to have both T1 and GEN, keeping only one would not be understandable)
1 JP team
1 SGMY team
1 ID team
1 PH team
1 TH team
When I see how Oceania being of the only region in the world that loose premier team every split, I know how destructive this is for a market to have 0 franchise.
So yeah, we could remove DRX, GEN, GE, ZETA, but that would be weird as fuck, Maybe remove RRQ if we consider that MYSG and ID is the same market because of language but that doesnt sound smart.
Also going 6 ascention team is taking the risk of having half of the league a KR team (When I see number of premier team in KR I start to fear they full take over ascention spot in the near future)

If Riot choose to go to 6 partner team per region... That mean at least in 2031 (but preferably in 2027) we will need to split Pacific and Asia, because in long term that could mean the destruction of Val in some part of SEA, doing that would open a slot for Oceania, (3KR team, 2JP team, 1OCE team), and another spot either for Vietnam, or for MENA if we decide to put MENA in Asia to make the region bigger in term of population (Because it would be the smaller region in term of pop.

Anyway we will see if the playerpool in Korea continue to increase exponentially, because if that happen that could really choke to death the rest of APAC

Those who are writing Orangutan need to know that they left Valorant, the roster is just playing under their name

If RNTX somehow qualifes for Ascension this year by defeating VLT, they gonna have the highest chance imo

Maybe riot even considers giving them slot in place on GE also if this happens

Why do you guys take regional distribution for granted when discussing this? Riot is not going to do that. I don't think they'll actually cut it down to six teams, but if they do, GE will definitely fall off and the entire SEA will be hanging on to one or two teams.
