Sentinels is the overall best team in VCT

When looking at then entirety of VCT Sentinels is arguably the best and most succesful team. 2 Masters and apart from their weak streak always playing for top spots. The only other teams I would consider are LOUD and Fnatic. No other team has been a big name or succesful for either a long period of time or at 2 distinct times from 2021-2025. Thoughts?

Thats true but I think if other teams went through that, it would be hard to recover. Look at NRG, Loud, PRX and many other teams that are struggling and have been struggling for a while even though they were regarded as really well. The only team that got DEFINITIVELY better was EG during 2023 but apart from that, nothing really.

The thing is, loud nrg and prx had two good years before they started struggling, and sentinels at their worst were going 0-5 in domestic group stage
Their low was so bad you had like 2 sen flairs in all of vlr

In 2023 seeing a sen flair was like seeing a tsm flair in 2022

good in 2023? Decent there were way better teams. Best in 2024? Only for the end of the year (Champs). 2025 has only been 1 month of valorant so far. Fnatic reign was way stronger too and longer (in valorant timeline).

Fnatic we’re good in 2021 and 2022 as well, edg literally got grouped twice in 2024, sen was horseshit domestically for two years didn’t make domestic playoffs for Shanghai and also bombed out champs 2021 and didn’t play well at Berlin

Fnatic didn't even make Madrid and might as well have gotten grouped in Shanghai. Were mid at best in 2021. Grouped in Reykjavík. One, a mickey event. Didn't even make Berlin, and had 1 notable year at best. The fact SEN were as bad as they were for two years and came back is evidence of them being at the top in two entirely different metas. EDG also proven this. Its a take thats simply the harsh truth. Overrated team.

Edg haven’t been good for a year yet
Fnatic made 2nd at Iceland 1, Iceland 2 they were missing half their roster
They have 2 back to back wins (more impressive than sens), came 4th at Copenhagen, 2nd at Iceland, 4th at champs 2023, 5th at champs 2022, won countless domestic trophies

Sen won Iceland 1, 8th at Berlin after farming f4q, grouped at champs, failed to even make Iceland, went 0-5 in split 2 and failed again to make Copenhagen, failed to win lcq, first rounded at lock-in, failed to make playoffs again domestically, got only one win at lcq 2023, won Madrid and Americas, immediately failed to even make split 1 domestic playoffs, bombed out of playoffs split 2 then made 4th at champs
They have had 3 good tourneys ever

This is a genuinely terrible take, FNATIC were the kings of EU until now pretty much. They made finals in the first masters and have always been at the top. The only reason they arent the best is because they never won Champs and only won 1 masters. But alone their Win in the LOCK//IN Final is enough to put them in top conversation.
