I've seen a lot of individuals saying that heybay should be dropped in order for Trace Esports to reach the next level. While I don't necessarily agree with that, I think that no one can dispute that GuanG probably walks into the team of just about every other CN team barring EDG. He's just crazy good.

I fully believe that NOVA's roster on a good day can push Trace and win once given more time to develop a better map pool. People are underselling how good NOVA's roster is mechanically because they're never dominating, but literally all of their players have gone +20 at some point against other middle-pack teams
I don't like o0o0o, don't rate CB as much as I probably should, and I honestly do just think that NOVA are a 5th or 6th ranked team at best. I know that this isn't the most welcome of takes, but I don't quite think they have a better chance than a team like XLG after the team meshes better (also because I'm biased towards Viva).
it's easy to think this because outside of GuanG none of their players consistently put up great numbers and at any point it's only one other person who's on a tear, but literally all of the players outside of o0o0o (who's the igl anyways) have had games where they are massacring the enemy team on their own. I legit, fully and unironically believe that if (keyword IF) NOVA get their shit together in consistency they will be definitive top 3
I don't know, I just see NOVA as a B-tier team. Sure, Ezeir, CB are both solid fraggers, while SWERL aand GuanG are probably A-Tier in China, I just don't see them really toppling Trace Esports. However, something I noticed is that Trace does have a slight role issue. In particular, FengF cannot really play Cypher all too well, and that is slightly holding them back on maps where Kai has to play Neon/Jett.
tbh I don't think China's at a point yet where we can say that fragging power is the definitive barrier for teams domestically. obviously Trace player-by-player is better because they're the golden standard of consistency now, but imo NOVA's potential peak is higher. though ig there's no use in dwelling on the 'what-ifs' because at the end of the day it is as it is. if they don't become consistent that's just proof that they're not at that caliber to begin with
You say that, but FPX is under a massive transitioning period at the moment. They have just dropped their coach and started playing relatively more normal team compositions. BLG on the other hand, is still probably getting used to some of the player changes that they've undergone in the form of rushia (who, admittedly, has been a tad disappointing) + Levius.
Actually Nova have 4 player in data top 15 except o0o0o, this guy is antepenultimate.
