Who do you want to have on Talon to replace Ban and Governor?
Did Endoist reject TALON main roster or academy? Primmie did the same initially but look at him now. I think if TALON can promise a stable income/future for at least a year and he can pause any ongoing affairs like studies for just 1 year, then I think he will be more than willing to come. TALON is not a rich org, but I'm sure they can shell out a little more to bring in a superstar.
I still think ban is too inconsistent to be a starter on this roster along side with Crws. I don't hate him or think he brings no value but I think as a 6th man or assistant coach would do wonders. He always has those pop-off games that just makes you doubt the decision on replacing him but I think Crws has that same factor and it's too volatile to have both.
Time and time again Crws has shown his veteran experience on the IGL role and I've always been a believer in him remaining on the roster ~ our Thai FNS but always has the chance to come alive. I like Frost and with the new AC, TALON looks even better when they play how they actually want to play. Primmie off duelist is a no brainer, he's just too good in the clutch and trade situations. I always liked Governor and my only shout for replacing him is due to a language barrier, but if the team can comm in English for him or if he learns passable Thai, he's good enough mechanically to be our duelist but that's not to say he can't be replaced with equally talented Thai players.
If I had the choice to trial a team, it would be as follows (I think this team can flex roles accordingly and play many different agent comps)
Laz - Sentinel/Flex (ban 1:1 replacement but may not be able to flex duelist) ~ Smart player, good set-ups, can co-igl with Crws to reduce the workload.
Crws - IGL/Recon
Primmie - Sentinel/Flex
Endoist - Duelist (Amazing mechanics on all duelist, willingness to entry regardless of situation)
Jitboys - Controller (My anchor and always consistent)
I still think the current TALON is doing well, I don't really hate on the players mechanics but I just think there is always a slight comms hinderance that affects them but when they're locked in, they look good just like today. Their academy team looks mechanically very, very stacked but with need more time to develop into strong players on new roles (5 duelist strategy working lol). I just think Frost is too valuable as a coach right now to replace, he is creative, TALON knows their weaknesses so they try to adapt to a playstyle that works for them and I think that's admirable. Just when it goes wrong, it looks HORRIBLY wrong.
Best response, thank you. It does seem like Talon is the better managed org amongst the SEA representatives, like how they signed Primmie mid-season and was a very successful gamble. They know how to take risks. Though concerning Laz, is he really that good? I don't really follow so all I could see are just stats, and obviously, from stats alone he doesn't look that impressive.
My post was made because of that exact reason as well. I wouldn't have wrote this post had Ban and Governor were playing for PRX, since all their players speak English, but for TLN, I think all-Thai makes a lot of sense, especially since they already found a great rookie once.
He is ban but better. Good game understanding, smart and a perfect replacement for the role ban plays on TALON. His plant set-ups are very good and don't forget he is also IGLing for MiTH (and currently FS) so he is balancing a lot. If he could swap over to solely focusing on his aim he is indeed a very good anchor. Ban fucks up his util and overheats all the time which is not what you need from a site anchor.
Of course, if you think Crws can handle a team of rookies or less experience players solo, then I could also shift Primmie onto the hard sentinel role and then pick up a talented flex from a Thai team like Killua (part of Primmie/Jitboys crew where they are all mechanical demons) or Fontuz/K1wsy but I think Primmie still needs more experience on the sentinel role since his util timings are a little questionable.
Laz is currently on FS after they dropped players and picked up the MiTH core but they look very shaky imo. FS picked up another controller player and shifted their already VERY solid smokes player onto the flex role and his impact just hasn't been the same. I think these changes were also so last minute before challengers that they look really not in sync.
Keep your eyes on Z11 and TALON Academy. TLN Academy is a team of 5 duelists brought together to form a mechanical demon team. They just beat Z11 who were on a hot-streaker all the way from open quals and that was a hella fun watch (check out the vod for this game, not the cleanest or best, but very fun). TALON academy look very disjointed at times and overheat, but they're a new team with players filling new roles and every game I've watched so far, they've gotten better and better with util usage, teamplay and timings though I think their gameplans are still very, very one dimensional and rely heavily on winning trades and mechanics.
Z11 are an open qualifier team and composed of ex Valee Thai players. They use rep the streamer team name Z11 but are essentially part timers. They look like a more unpolished PRX but have shown tremendous potential and honestly, I had only heard of endoist prior to watching them earlier this year and there is a lot of hidden talents on this roster that I can't wait to see more of.
