Writers nowadays and weird endings

I don't know if it's just me and my choice of media but the more recent media I read or consume, most of the writers don't know how to end a good story. I don't think I have read a satisfying ending in a long time, and satisfying ≠ happy endings. Sad endings can be some of the greatest endings in media but it's just a wrong ending that stings. Like you wrote 261 chapters of this thing and you made the mc end with the worst choice type shit. And that is just an example. A story which doesn't end proper always leaves a sour taste in your mouth, like eating heavy food on a summer day and then having no water. It's weird. We have so many great writers in different scenes of media whether it be movies, animations, books, manga, manhwa and none of them know how to end a good story proper.

Oh ffs Tldr: Beta gooner writers end sigma story badly and in a rushed way

The Second Coming of Gluttony :)
I don't know if light novels are your cup of tea, but it is one of my favorite stories from the many I've read. In terms of physical books, I was happy with Bravelands and Eragon

I do read light novels
I was reading this manhwa yea? And it was perfect, absolute cinema, complex characters and all, AND THEY FUMBLED IT IN THE LAST PANEL. LIKE LITERALLY LAST PANEL. Like two more panels of cooking and it would be absolutely cinema. But the lazy bum didn't do that.

pressure and money have a lot to do with it, not everyone will be happy with a conclusion regardless they just try to find middle ground rather than taking risks. (Or jus take to big of one and kill show completely)

No that is not the point yk
Like I am okay with an open ending
But rushed endings do bother me

ah yes rushed endings are by far the worst, it’s just a farm for money in the last season. Typical with shows “declining” in audience or just drag the show to where the ending is pointless.

Worse is when the show is absolutely peak in terms of viewership and money and they still rush it
Like take the money lil bro

It happens a lot honestly but its way worse when the fans of the so called media furnish an entirely new ending that is way worse than what the author envisioned originally

I think social media has skewered our perception of endings a bit. Or at least this is my experience.

For very popular series, it's common that the ending is discussed before you even get to experience it. Leading a reader with a confirmation bias of such.

It's also easier to spread the word of an ending being bad, as humans like gossip and negativity by nature. Especially when surface level criticisms like "it was bad" or "it was good" will come way earlier than the deeper analyses that aim to pick apart the author's intentions. So the result is a minority of niche fanatics of the series left to combat (if they even want to bother) the mob of people influenced by a video they saw.

So true, especially this:

the mob of people influenced

I had been saying this from a long time, people had lost their own will, and acts only based at others will (Famous people), I'm tired of being excited to discuss about a book I like with someone, until I discover their whole opnion is based in a dead ass youtuber.

I think modern society tends to glorify sadness and treat it as the most "realistic" conclusion to a story which is why writers imagine they're writing something profound when they do it

Actually, isn't bc they want to look profund, is just that stories is highly based on the situation of their era.
The world is falling apart, every day seens that it only get worst.
Our genaration is the genaration with no hope to the future, the genaration who lost their fire.
And many, many others social problems.

So the writters will try to come close of this reallity.

global standards of life are at an all time high, to say our generation has no hope for the future is extremely disingenuous. maybe a few generations down the line when climate change gets worse this will begin to apply

I wasn't saying ''no hope'' in the sense of ''We gonna all die'', it was more like the sense of ''It's all useless''.
The youngs nowdays seens to not be motivated to live the normal life, they have no goal, no vision for a better future or plans, just dreams.
Like, take a look at the fathers, or grandfathers, at 19 they was already in their ''dream'' job, married and with their own house.
While the youngs in this genaration are suffering from anxiety and depression at their 21.

If you like fiction Id recommend Transcendent Mechanic (or was it Legendary Mechanic?). It has one of the best endings AND it has one of the best plots I ever read. Beware though, 1463 chapters long

ongod bro the ending to Optic was so ass bro it doesnt even make sense. The best player itw is cut for no reason and than is completly shit? The iceman turns into an ice cream man and cant find a team? The best duo split up 1 goes to EU as a sub and the other cant be on a team? The god igl cant keep up and is forced into retirement?

Horrrible fucking script bro no way this is realistic its like it was written by an Optic hater

Also actual stories
