at what point are we going to consider him one of the goats of americas? since franchising he has taken up two roles, and in both roles he has been one of the best in his region

2023 he was hard carrying c9 as duelist, even being compared to aspas before the team eventually started falling off (as c9 usually does), but even when he slowed down he still looked incredible and was a top 3 americas duelist throughout the year

2024 when he made the shift to sentinel he still looked incredibly clean and was perhaps the best g2 player that year, also arguably the best sentinel in the region outside of maybe johnqt, and in 2025 even though he’s only played one match he still looks so good

i genuinely think he should be in conversations for one of the greatest players the region has produced, all he’s missing is a chip and i genuinely think with the lineup g2 has now he’ll be able to get one

Kingg should be bigger. He has been performing at the same level or even better than Leaf for 4 years, all while being an IGL. At the very least, he should be in the same position, but in my opinion, he should be ranked higher than Leaf.

LOL Kingg is great but most of the people agrees leaf is just better. Leaf is just so much more consistent.

he was honestly the only real competition leaf had in 2024 americas, i’d say tex but he didn’t have as high a peak as the other two

for 2024 no, unfortunately

shyy was good but similar to tex i think he didn’t have as high of a peak as john or leaf, and less i feel as though he had a bit of a slump in form, though that was mainly because his team was also not very good

shyy was absolutely solid, i just don’t think he had a better year than either johnqt or leaf

that’s why i said he was similar to tex; very clearly in the upper echelon of his role but just barely missing out on the top tier

Having Jawg on team increases his current chance of getting a trophy yes but that's not the reason why he's never got one. The Guard with neT and Tex without jawg was enough to 3-0 him when he was on c9. 2024 G2 roster with Leaf + Icy were much better than The Guard with neT and Tex.
During Americas Finals against 100T trent was bottom fragging and Leaf himself was peforming worse than Icy who was top 2 KD all maps.

Everyone on a team is responsible for G2's result. If they ran it back this year with Icy the chance of winning at least Americas will be less yes, but that doesn't mean they definitely couldn't. You need everyone besides the duelist to perform as well especially when Jawg is currently playing a lot of supportive Yoru. That convincing win against C9 wasn't a Jawg diff the other 4 were playing better than they did when they lost last year.

(this is based off the c9 game only) i think jawg deserves some credit, he’s naturally a very aggressive entry and that in itself also enabled his teammates to be more aggressive and thus perform better
