Jokes aside: I appreciated ao ashi more because It's more realistic and has a great balance of sports action and character driven drama..

ao ashi is manga for people who actually like football
blue lock is manga for edgy competitive teens

I also personally prefer ao ashi

Blue lock is a really good manga it is not a really good football/soccer manga

It is soccer Naruto complete with powerscaling and special eyes

Ao Ashi, if you want more of the same, with worse art and a protagonist who is a recycled version of every other one of the 1000 sports manga protagonists out there.
Blue Lock, if you want a different experience from all the other 1000 sports manga ever released, with a protagonist who excites you to watch grow, who wants to win, and who, unlike all the others, aims to be the best.
