Tactical Shooter

When Valorant first launched, it was meant to be a tactical first-person shooter with abilities designed to complement and enhance the gunplay. However, I’m not sure why we keep getting new abilities that can outright kill players with ease. This game was supposed to be a better tactical shooter than CS, but it’s slowly starting to feel more like Overwatch. What’s going on?

how would you want valo to get a better tactical aspect than CS without becoming just CS 2.0?

  1. Stop over implementing abilities that does not reward masteral of mechanics

problem is that valorant's mechanics are made for abilities to set the difference between players. Movement isn't as crisp as it is in CS, spraying isn't as hard as it is in CS, Operator isn't nearly as good as the AWP. Getting a better tactical aspect would require changing the game's base, and why would you want to do that? CS fans aren't going over, val fans might as well leave too cuz some people find abilities fun

The thing is I actually like Valorant, just not the most recent updates. You can tell me Valorant doesn’t need me but I am genuinely invested in this game and has helped me through hard times too.

It’s difficult to add new agents and not have the abilities change some fundamental aspect of the game.

  • Clove post death smokes
  • Gekko wingman plant
  • ISO shield

These are abilities that completely redefined the game, more so Clove because she’s the agent with the highest win rate in Ranked.

I stopped considering Valorant to be a tactical shooter after Neon became overpowered for 6 months. Just have fun with the game. It was not meant to be as serious/competitive as CSGO.

Look at the crowds in each game. Valorant is much more random and casual which makes it fun for the casual viewer.
