So, they are champions winner in 2021, but not even a single player signed in t1 teams in 2025. Are they just lucky winning against Gambit? l

i think they were just either ahead of the meta, or better at the meta (at the time)

how is this still a conversation

1. Gambit got fucked by Riot's schedule and some controversy that I don't exactly remember and was playing the GF for the most important tournament of the year with little to virtually no sleep
2. 2021 Champions was the only Champions in history to be a single elimination tournament

It also doesn't matter because Acend won so they get the trophy, but in my opinion people should not weight this tournament nearly as highly as any other Champions :D

the game is changing so fast that if you just stop for a minute, you're behind, kind of the same reason why 3/5 optic players are not in T1 for next year even though they were the best just 2 years ago

At the end of the day, cNed was the best Jett op in the world that time so Acend cleared Gambit.

ascend were on hella momentum
their players tho were all indivually talented but basically all of them popped off at the right time

starxo, zeeks and cned were all incredible for their roster and were directly responsible for their win against gambit. also didnt help that gambit that day decided to underpreform except nAts

overall if you win a trophy, you deserve it. you cant just luck your way to one

Early adapter, but can't keep up nowadays.

fluke tournament because its single elim, beat a TS who almost went out in groups to NIP and Gambit, and Liquid, who is Liquid...
Fair play to beat Gambit in the finals, but at the end of the day, they had to win 3 games in playoffs and only one against a good team (Gambit)
Once they got momentum in groups, they had an easy road to finals, and barely beat an underperforming Gambit.

Gambit players had 3 hours of sleep because Riot schedule and covid tests in the morning, they were obviously going to lose
