i didn't think you'd forget how to entirely play the game after winning the biggest event of the year

Sen is playing in Americas. They would have qualified in any other region.

I aced an exam before summer vacation, took a well deserved break, and performed much worse on the diagnostic test with minimal preparation. Isn't it the same logic when it comes to sports/skill-based activities? Lack of practice = worse results.

This is not the same logic, because questions on tests are constantly fluctuating. This is from a champions winning team are ingrained in your brain from the entire year of prepping. You can take a break but you don't forget how to play the game, especially since they came back to practice in October.

A diagnostic test is a test (with the same topics from the previous year) taken to see where you are at the moment. I think it's pretty similar. Maybe the other teams came back to practice in October but EDG did not have their full roster together until a week before the Radiant Asia Invitational (as mentioned by Kangkang). Kangkang also mentioned that they will produce bad results due to a lack of practice.

By your logic, a champion-winning team should never lose again because they have the "champion level prep & gameplay" ingrained in their brains.

do you know what a diagnostic test is?

This is what happens when other teams grind while you slack. While I understand why Edg needed the break since this is their official break after years of grinding but because of how fast val changes, you're forced to grind to stay up.

yes and thats why losing is nice ..... u need to fail to improve ... i would rather EDG win champs/masters again than a mickey mouse off-season event
