The maps for this series were Sunset from G2 and Pearl from C9, leaving Bind as the decider. This series was defined by the unstoppable attack side from C9, as well as some G2 pistol and bonus round woes.
The series began on Sunset, with C9 winning both the pistol and the bonus round to build an early lead. G2 had to end the half strong to keep the map within reach, and they did just that to enter the half down only 7-5.
When the second half began and C9 won the second pistol round, they steamrolled over G2 with good aim from OXY on Neon and a key triple kill from Xeppaa on Breach. The second half was dominant from C9, winning the map 13-5.
G2 had to win on Pearl to keep their tournament hopes alive. C9 kept their pistol rounds perfect with another round victory and bonus conversion to start Pearl, catching G2 off guard with constant two-man stacks and pop-flash plays. However, like map one, G2 ended that run, this time off of a clutch mid hold from JonahP .
JonahP holds strong with three kills against Cloud9.G2 had a tough time preventing C9 from taking site and winning post-plants, especially with the hoard of utility from the Astra-led composition. Like Sunset, G2 adapted late into the half to keep the map winnable, down 8-4.
However, C9 won their fourth straight pistol off of a great two-man push from mid, and they converted their fourth straight bonus to win the map 13-4 and the series 2-0.
For this series, the MVP was OXY as he outplayed his counterpart jawgemo with 43 kills across two maps, as well as 13 first kills with only four first deaths. With this win, C9 is in the Red Bull Home Ground #5 finals and will face the winners of the T1 T1 Korea Rank #3 stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) Meteor Kim Tae-O (김태오) Sylvan Ko Young-sub (고영섭) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) iZu Ham Woo-ju (함우주) versus FUT Esports FUT Esports Europe Rank #7 xeus Doğan Gözgen MrFaliN Furkan Yeğen yetujey Eray Budak AtaKaptan Ata Tan cNed Mehmet Yağız İpek qRaxs Doğukan Balaban match in the tournament finals.
