Survey for VLR users

Hey. I've been thinking a lot about the economic instability in VCT and T2 recently. One of the possible solutions I came up with is a subscription service to watch the games, something I think Riot has experimented with in the past. That way T1 and T2 teams will get direct money from people that would watch the games. I have a stable job, so it's hard for me to get a sense of what the average VLR user would think about paying a monthly fee to watch the games, so I figured I'd put out a survey to see what everyone here thinks.

This is just for my own personal research, not for school or anything.

I'll post the results if anyone is curious.

Thanks!

Almost every tier 2 struggles with trying to gain viewers, placing a pay wall not only discourages potential viewers, you will also lose a lot of viewers in the process,

Expect Philippines viewerships go from 1-2k to just 500 if we really implemented subscriptions

no one's gonna pay a subscription if NRG or EG isn't playing
this is a terrible idea

I like the idea and think it would be beneficial, but I, like many others watching VCT, aren’t old enough for a proper job and I’d be using a big chunk of my money for a video game streaming service, which I don’t think would go over well with my parents.

If I understand correctly, you offer to pay for watching VCT and T2? This doesn't seem like a good idea to me

there's no way i'll pay for vct by any means. i already watch very few games. and my casual friends watch even less (only sentinels) maybe if i was TMV and watched like every game then i'd feel my money's worth. riot doesn't need crowdfunding, they have enough money, they just need to realize where their money needs to be.

Subscription should be for T1 but that still wouldnt make sense because they are already getting money from the Riot,
This is a complicated process because It can also dissolve T2 scene.
Instead the money gained from T1 subscription should be used for T2 because the teams will usually dont care about (i think so)

i would be down for annual pass for like 20/30 bucks but the quality has to be significantly better. No tech pauses/ have player cams.

i view esports basically the same way as youtube or a random twitch stream - would probably never consider paying for it if it became paywalled. maybe if it was cheap and production was significantly better. i already only watch costreamers (sliggy), so im not sure how that would work either

For VCT to be smth like F1 TV, it would have to operate as professional and good as F1 first
