So I was on twitter when I saw this one post where someone shared some AI images of how the T1 worlds skins could look. Yk, just some fan things, nothing harmful. For some reason I decided to open the comments and it's people attacking them for using AI image and how they should remove it because it harms real artist. I am most of the time against AI art, because it does steal real arts and uses it to build their database without consent but this is not the first time I have seen these non-ai supporting accounts and they are very aggressive most of the times which I personally don't get. If the person is using it for profits, sure, go after the bozo but going after harmless fan made things for fun just seems pointless to me.
Not everyone can pay or wishes to pay artists considering the increase in price of art works these past years.
Another instance is people blaming legit artists as AI artists. This one artist got accused of being an ai artist by other artists and it was ugly. The artist got lots of hate from these people after which the person gave a video of them making the art and they were still not convinced and accused them of cutting it after which they posted a 2h version of the whole thing. Like literal death threats over this. The fact that one of the big account didn't even take down the attacking tweet even admitting their mistakes say a ton. You are enabling your huge audience into attacking possibly a teenager which is fucked up. Where your accountability.
Overall, I think we have come too far in this AI art hate thing. Listen, I hate AI art too, it's ugly as fuck. But what harm is it if someone is making silly little art for themselves. The entire purpose of it was to make art more accessible and doing it for fun just facilitates that.
Would like to know your opinion though.
