People should start to realize riot doesnt care about SEA, apparently we are actually a minor region according to riot. No matter how much hype the scene is or how competitive the region is, we're just 2nd tier region.

We probably will ended up like any other dead region in few years. Unless there is a change.

sad that the entire SEA region left CS just to be given the same treatment over in Val

exactly, its hard to be a tactical FPS fan on SEA.
I actually feels bad for the fan and especially for the players who jumped out CS ship to another sunken ship.

what would it take from CS TOs to win over SEA fans, if, of course, the entire SEA region got upset with Riot?

with no SEA rep on the tournament (which is obvious), i think most of the people who would came prolly just an old CS fan on SEA but i personally still see this event as W moves from CS TO

RIOT could change their stuff next year (I mean, they have to after this nonsense they are doing). Hopefully they get the idea of how braindead this decision was and go back to the OG format for SEA, or at least make them stream in various platform (yt, twitch, etc) because the SOOP they are streaming ain't even the SOOP koreans use and foreigners don't even know the existence of the international version of SOOP

tldr: RIOT better fix their shit for next year.

Ultimately it's not about the viewerships, it's about how low can riot keep the deficit while operating the scene i.e how to not lose too much money. Might seem short sighted at face value, but the soop deal might actually saved riot more than people would like to admit.

yea i get that, but i was talking more about the fan's pov. Surely the deal with SOOP was a plus factor for riot but its a bit of a let down for the fans. If I'm being objective here, I would just say the fans should just go to SOOP and watch, it don't even take that long. But the social media accounts of SEA countries are not doing anything except TH, so I guess the fault is pretty much shared

Sea fans only watches tier 1 anyways specifically more towards prx(except ID and TH tier 2s, both are higher than average sea t2 views but still not that great, even that aren't enough to offset other regions', the views are just not there), so there's not really much of an incentive for riot to serve the fans when Soop just essentially handed riot free money.

also you're right about their marketing, they suck ass.

True. At the end of the day, without money none of this vct can happen.
+i just realised that some of the 'fans' don't even watch tier 2, and only come out of the cave to complain.
