I never knew this but when you hide a reply it says "___ children hidden" https://imgur.com/a/EmJouQE

I never noticed this. I know its the mods or devs calling us children which is funny but you can also make it look like it says "this user is hiding 6 children" and that's even funnier

It's just a term used to describe hierarchy.
Like the replies are children nodes to the parent (initial post)
