Over the summer, I really grinded VALORANT again for the first time since covid, and I found passion in the game again. I joined a summer team, thinking it was just the first small step in my journey to something bigger. Now, two weeks into my senior year of college, I've been offered a captain position for my school. However, my summer team (I met online btw) has committed more than I could ever imagine to improving. I, personally, did not ever think we would make it this far when it comes to commitment. I've created great friendships with all of them, but I never even told them I tried out for my school's team. Now, I'm in a position that tests my loyalty and honesty, and I honestly feel terrible about the whole thing. Do you think they'd understand? They know how seriously I treat my actual academics, but my school's VAL team might be over the top. I'm not sure, I feel bad lol. I may just be overreacting, but I'd love to hear thoughts on how I can deal with this situation. I really do not want to pass up on this opportunity coming from my school.
Mind you the school team is an official team
The summer team is not registered as an official team anywhere, and it's been our job to put ourselves out there.
