Understanding psychology behind hate

I joined this community quite recently, I am finding it hard to understand why everyone hates sen fans. Like I get that in most comment sections they are the most talked about team and there's a pretty much valid reason why. Like if fans can't talk about their favourite teams and hype up them (even unrealistically), then what's the point of being a fan and don't understand what's wrong with it. And from what I have seen on surface (not with proper evidence can be my bias as well) they shit less on other teams compared to how much they get shitted on. So is it jealousy that makes other fandoms hate sen fans? Or is it compulsiveness of 12yos who under the garb of perceived anonymity just like to shit on everything and everyone?

Like I am not totally familiar with the concept of flair, flag, stars, alt, bait, etc. Flair ig is the logo of sen next to my username, the team I root for and flag is of India, a country I'm native to. Stars I don't know how are they accorded.

Have you seen sen haters?

They’re more obsessed than fans themselves

that is the problem

both the fans and the haters are too over the top. They are in this weird state of being the most hated and the most liked team

some of them are just restarted, other than that idfk its just hate on this site, like top teams have one bad game and they immediately want a roster changes lmfao. Also sen haters are more obsessed about SEN than their actual fans

If you view such retarded behavior anywhere on vlr, can you attach a link here? I want to see what exactly tilts others off?

(allat) ay bro i don't keep receipts because i don't hate any team but the comment #8 does well at explaining it why , and why i think some of them are restarted is probably because when SEN is not performing they immediately want changes to the roster, roles, etc. Like for example when zekken has one bad game and is not performing they immediately criticize him and calling him ass, some restarted fans immediately want TENZ their "glorious king" to be back on duelist. the restarted ones are probably hopping on the SEN bandwagon without knowing anything.

Listen man, No one on this site wants Tenz back on duelist even the fans, I would guess you would be talking about the fans from tiktok since they talk about that more. Plus the overreaction of the roster changes were all just from haters looking to baiT, none of them were even users with sen flairs or actual fans

Sentinels fans, particularly those who follow the team's competitive gaming achievements, can sometimes be perceived as obnoxious or annoying due to their intense devotion and behavior. Here's an argument that could be made on this topic:

Argument: Why Sentinels Fans Are Perceived as Obnoxious and Annoying

  1. Over-the-Top Celebrations:
Sentinels fans are incredibly passionate about their team, often taking celebrations to the extreme when their team wins. This can be exciting within the fan community but comes across as obnoxious to outsiders, especially when they flood social media with memes, trash talk, and celebratory posts that can feel overwhelming or excessive.

  2. Relentless Trash Talking:
Competitive gaming naturally involves some level of rivalry and banter, but Sentinels fans are known for taking this to another level. Their constant trash-talking of opposing teams and their fans can be perceived as unnecessarily aggressive. Even in moments of loss, Sentinels fans often deflect criticism or disparage other teams, making it hard for others to engage in fair, respectful discussions.

  3. The "Bandwagon" Perception:
As Sentinels gained popularity, particularly with their success in games like "Valorant," many new fans joined the bandwagon. This influx of fans is often perceived as less knowledgeable or more prone to following trends than supporting the team for genuine reasons. This perception can lead to resentment from other fanbases, who view Sentinels fans as fair-weather supporters rather than true, dedicated fans.

  4. Online Presence:
Sentinels fans have a strong online presence, which can be both a blessing and a curse. Their dominance on platforms like Twitter, Reddit, and Discord can create echo chambers where dissenting opinions are drowned out. This behavior often alienates other gaming communities, leading to the perception that Sentinels fans are intolerant of differing viewpoints and overly protective of their team, even to a fault.

  5. Unreasonable Expectations:
With the team’s success, Sentinels fans often develop high expectations, expecting nothing less than victory in every match. When these expectations aren't met, their reactions can be dramatic, including harsh criticism of players, coaches, or even the organization itself. This type of behavior can be off-putting, as it showcases a lack of perspective and humility, furthering the idea that Sentinels fans are difficult to deal with.

Even though it's a gpt generated response still:

  1. Maybe banter is good till it crosses a certain line when it becomes ugly. But I get that perception of it something subjective and varies from individual to individual.
  2. Agree with the latter part.
  3. I get that just like Man City fans or Real Madrid fans are perceived as 'glory hunters'. But still is it that much of a strong reason to hate the players on their ethnicities, spouse, etc.?
  4. If other smaller fandoms had the option to become as big as Sen's would they not?
  5. This one can be true for a game like Valorant where the metas are constantly evolving rapidly and holding a team accountable for constantly performing at the highest levels is bit too much.

Overall it feels like it's more of a 'you' problem rather than an 'us' problem?
