Not really, it's software for the existing processing units onboard wooting/razer analog keyboards, but yeah it is really similar foundationally to rapid trigger so unlikely to get banned unless rapid trigger gets banned as well. The point is when are they gonna draw the line between keyboard perks and legitimate advantage? Won't Wooting continue to release software like this that pushes the limits of keyboards in a competitive space?
if riot ban it it’s bc of pressure from bigger companies who sponsor like logitech who pump out trash keyboards consistently, otherwise why would they care that certain peripherals give an advantage. it would be like them banning 240hz monitors bc not everyone owns them.
it would be a different story if wooting were hostaging the patents to their technology, but at least to my knowledge they aren’t. what will probably happen is logitech and other big companies will finally put out their own versions (bigger company which means everything is slower for literally no benefit) a few years down the line and every gaming keyboard will have these features.
I just think it’s sick that a company that’s not even 10 years old and is a fraction of the size of its competition, which doesn’t have people who are like 60 years old and profit margin focused running it, can revolutionise the market by actually thinking about what people want, and can make a product/software updates in a relevant time window.
