If u know someone that knows stuff about getting in a team or a LAN cafe, you should try inquiring him about this.

Another plan u can try is just joining any team that participates in LAN tournaments regularly or smth like that

I cant give you much insight into Canada specifically but here are my personal experiences (mainly from Paladins cause I suck at valo, but the process should be similar here)

Get to top ranks so you play with t3-t1 players regularly - accept friend requests and get to know people in the scene
Try and get into pugs with t2/t3 players (just pay attention if a new server opens/if there is an active one + go ask people)
-> Make friends in the scene! Genuinely the most important step so be nice to people^^

Join a t3 team/make one with ranked friends and then just start playing in open qual tournaments
Having people see you guys play helps getting scrims
Do your darnest to get scrims! (I hope its easier in valo since its a bigger scene, but this can be an absolute pain ngl)

And then just keep playing and making friends tbh until you end up on a good t3 team

I havent been paying enough attention to premier, but I would think Premier makes this even more straight forward since you dont have to go out of your way looking for quals to make yourself a name in and instead teams will take notice if you do well against them

to add some context to some of these steps:
most val pros in ranked are very nice, talk to them in-game and let them get used to your name in the server. add them or let them add you.
once you make a team, valo has really good scrim sites like gankster. get active and practice a lot! to add to the last part, you NEED to be playing premier as it is now a direct qualifier into challengers. you get into higher premier leagues by being a higher rank, so be sure to grind ranked first. you can also find good teammates that way!

Grind ranked and reach top 50 in leaderboard. Somebody will notice you eventually and get you on a team. From there make connections and play well. It will take some time but you will surely reach if you play well enough.

how to be pro:

1- hit AT LEAST top 50 on the leaderboard, stay there for the whole act

2- play 8 hours a day, 400 games every ACT min

3- wait till you get noticed, and make connections within the scene

4- get trialed for t3-t2 teams, and hopefully get picked

5- play outta of your mind in t2 till you hit ascension or get picked by t1 teams
