What else can you do other than just give them more time? Maybe sign some foreign analysts and coaches, but that's about it. They're only given 1 import like the other regions

coaching is the main issue, player potential is high, especially with their already superb aim. which is understandable because even though CN was technically a region since the beginning of vct, the interest of valorant is not there, so even though player individuality is there because of hard work, coaching is neglected because of the lack of coaching development. so maybe the solution is imported analysts and coaches or just a higher focus on that coaching department.

They actually need to import coaches. I feel like edg gonna change either roster or coaching staff wise. Ive seen teams have leads or up in rounds then throw away and not sure what to do.

true, PAC & CN lack experience and someone to cook Strats up cause we always left behind in fps world

DRG underperforming is understandable, FPX showing off their progress was amazing, but EDG was just disappointing.
Here's how to fix these teams:
DRG - More international experience
FPX - Make minor adjustments (mainly regarding defense + reading intelligent players)
EDG - Do something about the leading, whether it be After or Haodong. If they can find an IGL that can call well and frag well then it would be amazing because while Haodong usually has good calling (assuming After's weird strats and tactics affected him this tournament), his aim/mechanics isn't nearly good enough to help EDG be as good as they can be. Chichoo and Nobody are good for their roles but I think you could consider finding better replacements. The issue with getting rid of any one of the team members is that I'm afraid it'll mess with the chemistry and teamwork. As I see it After is the main issue because he's trying to do things that firstly aren't working, secondly isn't working, and thirdly probably will never work.

There's the fix.

This is all on point.

team chemistry is the major issue when it comes to solutions, especially since someone like Haodong is the mental stability in the team, but I think the players will find their footing with better coaching support, the strats look too uncomfortable and it will affect their mentals.

That's why I'm putting more blame on After than on Haodong. After's job is to prepare the team for matches and keep them in line with the winning vision during tactical timeouts and half time and all that jazz but Haodong's job is to keep the other players in line with the vision mid game.

EDG has not been putting up competitive series, and while the strategies and tactics After makes are clearly one of the main aspects to point out when understanding their failures, we should also look at Haodong.

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt but when you keep losing games with less than six rounds, there's clealy something wrong with the mental. And like you said, since someone like Haodong is meant to be the mental stability in the team, he's clearly not been doing the best handling that role. Regardless, I'll let it off this time because I think After's mediocre strats are affecting his calling, but if they sack After and this persists then they start looking at Haodong.

But yeah you're right that chemistry is so important that it's hard to even consider dropping an IGL like Haodong who's been with EDG since 2021 if I recall correctly.

tldr: Yeah

It was meant to be a short-term gig at first because Psion awarded me with "honorary American" status, but NA's been winning ever since so he told me to keep it for a bit longer.

DRG in general just needs a bit more consistency. Probably changing like nizhao or shion for someone more consistent might help

I'd vote for Shion7 to go. Funny thing is TZH was easily the best member of DRG in both their Shanghai matches.

He definitely did good but he's inconsistent, which is their problem. I definitely would want shion gone over him though

FPX looked way better than EDG. Yes they make a lot of mistakes but they were extremely creative and in terms of firepower look better than EDG

EDward Gaming/EDG ~ SuperTeam/超級團隊

ZmjjKK - Entry/Primary Duelist - https://www.vlr.gg/player/3520/zmjjkk/?timespan=all
Spring - Flex, 2nd Duelist/Omen - https://www.vlr.gg/player/14125/spring/?timespan=all

YESicaN - Sentinel/Viper/IGL - https://www.vlr.gg/player/1437/yesican/?timespan=all

Head Coach(HC)- AfteR/Jexen
Assistant Coach(AC)- Fayde
Analyst(A)- ?/我还不如当分析师 (Simplified)

English- I've already prepared the agents for the map pool.
Chinese- 我已經準備好了地圖池的代理人。

I'm 100% certain with enough of experience and time they'll put up better performance and more consistently.

Only problem with this is that YESicaN is in contract jail. :-( (Aswell, maybe lanugage barrier not too sure but could always keep Haodong/ get pl1xx from Wolves - https://www.vlr.gg/player/871/pl1xx/?timespan=all)

BLG ROSTER

No lol. Spring is too inconsistent. Smoggy is much better than him, he might as well be the best player with Life in China atm. Current EDG drag him down. Yesican is good but not worth it with language barrier.

spring prob lacking that teamplay i feel like if he had some good support he'd be more consistent, ofc everyone has good and bad games though

#32

maybe but replace smoggy is not it. Current EDG form make him look a lot worse than his real level. If hes playing on a more stable team like drx (when they not choke) for example, he would look much more insane i guarantee.
