what are you talking about??? their current standing only matter for 4th seat split 2 is a qualifier for champs not a champ point farm and whoever has the most makes it. champ ponts are a replacement for lcq and reward the team who was most consistent throughout the year. 1st seat at champs is not indicative of how many points you have.

the format has always been unbelievably dogshit dont get it twisted. in Americas League last year, you could lose every single match and still have a chance to qualify through Champions through LCQ by being the better team there (KRU did just that btw). Now its 2024 and if you end up selling your 5/6 matches in Split 1 then you're pretty much fucked for the rest of the year most likely.
I'm 99.99999% sure they threw out LCQ and revamped a bunch of stuff because shit teams were apparently supposed to stay shit teams and that KRU shouldn't have beat big boy names like SEN in the LCQ after going 0-9 in Americas. I think it was Leo himself or the format explainer talker whatever for the Riot Valorant YT channel that straight up said that teams deserved to be punished more for playing badly for the 1st half of the year.
its extremely fucking dumb and a complete failure of a system, but the majority of the people in this community wont care unless dogshit teams in Split 1 start playing like champs EG in Split 2 but still fail to qualify
