would you rather have:

16 team double-elim bracket

group stages exactly like berlin where each group has 4 teams with 5 games: 2 upper bracket, and upper final, an elimination game, and a decider into a single elim 8-team bracket

4 groups of 4 teams that play in round robin format (for those who don’t know, it’s similar to the g2 sen and f4q bracket except with 4 teams and top 2 qualify) into a single elim 8 team bracket

Challengers ans LCQ are qualifiers. T a major should never be double elim expect if there is bracket reset in the finals, meaning the loser has to win 2 series

this take is eh. sure majors that are groups which funnel into a single elim bracket can be more hype means every game counts, but from the outside looking in, double elim helps you understand the real champion and there are gonna be more matches.

basically each team plays teams with similar win/loss records until the teams are sorted into a ranking

for champions, you could do 3 days of swiss, and it'd look like this:
day 1 - the matches are determined by tournament seeding - at the end of this day, 8 teams are 0-1 and 8 are 1-0
day 2 - randomly, the 0-1 teams play other 0-1 teams, and the 1-0 teams similarly play each other - at the end of this day, 4 teams are 0-2, 8 teams are 1-1 and 4 teams are 2-0
day 3 - the 2-0 teams rest and the 0-2 teams go home. The 1-1 teams play each other, with the winners going to playoffs and losers going home

playoffs is then an 8-team bracket (can be either double or single elim) with the 2-0 teams getting seeds 1-4 and the 2-1 teams getting seeds 5-8.

u could also do 5 days of swiss for more accuracy, but knowing rito they'd prefer to spread 3 "days" of swiss into a week.
