I’m sure this thread has been done before but is there a reason why round 1 is single elim? The weird groups format is because there are 11 teams but for what reason is playoffs rd1 single elim
Riot is a billion dollar company but they don’t have billions to spend on esports lol
Nobody can predict how good a certain group is, most likely was random. It would be unfair to balance groups based on what Riot thinks is good
Kick off playoffs format was not shit, if you can’t comprehend kick offs you’re just a sore loser. It was a two stage event, with playins
If sen had an off day like they did vs leviathan and lost one match they would have been eliminated too, it’s a bad format regardless of team
There’s no reason why a 4 team playoffs can’t have double elim with the two losers (nrg and EG) playing each other and then playing loud for a lower final (Madrid qualification)
I think it is because if it was double elim it could play out like this:
If you win upper quarters/round 1 you go to upper semis. If you lose upper semis than you go down to the lower bracket where other teams who already lost in round 1 would have had a whole day to prac. That would mean you would have less time to prac because you had to play in the upper semis. This means you are more likely to lose than before which defeats the purpose of winning the upper quarters.
another level of shamelessness from riot games, cant even afford a 6 team double elim. I mean 2021 was sooo much better than this shit, 10 team masters minimum with 16 team masters and 16 team champs. Now we have 8 teams masters with fucking sinlge elim qualification. How have they become this stingy since franchising.
