Imagine if Americas Cup could be kickoff event for NA and SA (would take really long tho so the format would need to change).
For the first masters, they could try 2 teams per region (10 in total). The 2nd seeds battle it out in a round robin group stage where top 3 qualify. Then double elim bracket with the current 8 teams? This probably isn't the best tho.
If you had the opportunity to split the Americas league into North America and South America, would u actually do it?
If you would, what organizations would you want in both leagues?
You may have already realized this but I just want to point it out to anyone who hasn't heard about this.
I just realized that in the news article of VCT titled UPDATES TO VALORANT’S PATH TO PRO: CHALLENGERS, PREMIER, AND ASCENSION FOR THE 2025 SEASON, they explain the new update on Ascension Teams on how they can extend their stay in the Partnership Leagues if you play good. This update goes into affect next year and it states that if you miss playoffs (stage 2 playoffs), they will be completely relegated from the league which they clarified to be bottom 4. It also states that if you place at least top 8, you can play in ascension to have a chance to come back into the league. This means that there will be a 8 team playoffs next year for stage 2.
Let me know if I messed up somewhere or something
CONTEXT: Next year, each vct league will contain 12 teams each which equals out towards 48 teams overall. With that, I thought it would be an interesting idea for Champions to host 20 teams, 5 per league. For this format to run, I imagined that there would be a LCQ before Champions to qualify the 5th best team from each region. To have a LCQ, the Riot would probably have to remove the Kickoff Event completely for time.
This means the season would look like this: Stage 1, Masters 1, Stage 2, Masters 2, LCQ, and finally Champs.
Qualification for champs would work like this: Top 3 from Stage 2 playoffs, Team with the most champion points that didn't place top 3 at the stage 2 playoffs, and the winner of LCQ (20 teams in total).
FORMAT: Teams that qualifed to Champs by champion points or LCQ (8 Teams) would be placed in a Play-in Stage where teams are placed in 2 groups (4 teams each) GSL Style (I think that's what it's called not sure). The 4 teams that make it out of the Play-in Stage will move onto the Swiss Stage (16 teams). If you gain 3 wins you move onto the playoffs; if you lose 3 times you are eliminated. After the Swiss Stage, 8 teams should be left to continue playing. The playoffs is a double elimination style bracket where the winner is crowned your VCT 2025 Champions.
If you have any feedback or think I missed something feel free to list it out. (I did not proof read this)
I think this rule only applies to acsension teams. I forget when, but I saw it on twitter a couple days or weeks ago I believe.
would be nice if:
-every map win (international league splits and kick off matches) was 1 point
-qualifying to playoffs or play in was worth at least 1 point
-giving teams who are in master events 1 point no matter what
-qualifying to playoffs at a masters event was also worth 1 point
Wat do u think Kaplan said to them after their recent losses?
Honestly true but i think last year's internation league split was 2 months. This one would probably be around the same time frame. I did forget to mention that I would imagine kick off would be removed in this type of VCT.
Can we get a play-in stage for the international league splits? I liked the idea of it from kickoff.
I think having the the leagues as groups is fine and trying to make every team play each other is going to take a long time. Here is how I would think it would work for next year:
Last place team is completely elimnated from making it to the play-in (this doesn't need to happen tho)
4-5th place teams from each group qualify to the play-in stage where they either:
go round robin OR GSL style format (I think this is what it is called)
the play-in stage would allow 2 more teams to qualify to playoffs and they would be placed in the lower bracket (1st place teams get a bye to the upper semis and 2nd-3rd place teams would be in the quarter finals)
Solution is this:
-Drop the whole main lineup except for tenz and zekken
-Add curry
-Add zombs
-make tarik the new main duelist
-Put pancada back into the main roster(as a sentinel of course)
-Assign zellsis as the second assistant coach
-Sign Aspas to be our sub(he isn't playing)
-make tenz's dogs as the new analysis
-pick up a t2 player
partnership is honestly pretty good in my opinion
I think it is just bad managment from some orgs. I think t2 SA has pretty good talent.
Would be cool since we could get more NA and SA tier 2 talent to compete in the major leagues.
Problem: Would definitely be more expensive then we would like and we would need to change the import rule to at least 3/5 from a region because of some teams in the league.
edit: i still like that NA and SA are combined tho
I was rooting for them in every single match up they had even the one with SEN suprisingly. The personality on this team is really enjoyable tbh.
I think it is because if it was double elim it could play out like this:
If you win upper quarters/round 1 you go to upper semis. If you lose upper semis than you go down to the lower bracket where other teams who already lost in round 1 would have had a whole day to prac. That would mean you would have less time to prac because you had to play in the upper semis. This means you are more likely to lose than before which defeats the purpose of winning the upper quarters.
Idk how but this team has managed to win against LEV and LOUD while also dominating them on at least 1 map in each of the series. C9 budget rosters are just destined to be good in the regular season ig. Do you think they will make Masters Shanghai?
A good amount of time has passed for us to think about the current format. Do you believe the format was bad, good, alright? Do you think the community overreacted? Would you make some tweeks to the system? Just overall list what you feel about the system.
Trus, maybe Boostio will cook like he did back on EG. (Could be cope but I never was really a 100t fan)
100t still have talented players. If they practice hard enough they could make playoffs convincingly. They honestly could qualify to an international event if they stick together.
Evil Genuises' players work better as a team. Just because they don't look to hot as of right now (debatable), that still doesn't take away from what they did in 2023. Sure if Mibr didn't win against 100t, MAYBE EG wouldn't have been as good as they were by the end of they year, but they proved their worth in their International League Playoffs by defeating cloud9 and NRG once and by qualifying to performing great at Masters. Not only that but they won against PRX in the grand finals of Champs. If it were truly a fluke, EG wouldn't make it past their group in Masters. The teams they are on today are very different then the teams they have now. It is still somewhat early in the season so who knows where they will be later on in VCT.
Rules:
-the only players you can get must not currently be on a team or are competing in tier 2
-you are allowed to have at least one import player
-you need to list at least 5 players
My team would be:
Net
Shazam
Reduxx
FNS (IGL)
S0m
i think it was like 1 day ago. They posted it on twitter yesterday.
For me it has to be:
EMEA - Team Liquid
PACIFIC - Paper Rex
CHINA - Wolves Esports
That was a real great series no cap. I didn’t know Team heretics were that good.
The "standings" tab could look better
-The "Overall Standings" thing is outdated by like 2 years.
-It would be cool if we could click on the teams and get to see their rosters like how the lol esports website does it
-have it so that all the challengers leagues were in one folder for their respective leagues
-For example, the challengers leagues for NA and SA were in a folder called "VCL AMERICAS"
-add a pick-ems thing
-make it show all the tier 1 leagues are at the top (behind overall point standings) and not the bottom
a vct calendar tab of the whole year would be nice too
it would be cool if they revamped the valorant esports website
Why does the VCT Americas and EMEA logos look like that?
So I've seen journalists report on teams in the off-season but why do some teams allow reporters to leak the moves they make? The reason I ask this is because sometimes they are not allowed to report it like with Bodork during the early parts of the off-season.

Ye but that means teams need to prep against a good amount of comps per map over and over again.
I think it's because Valorant is a game where their agents have a variety of abilites, which means teams have to constantly adapt to what's meta. Not to mention that there will be new maps coming in and out of the rotation.
I’m sure riot has something that will make sure traveling isn’t that bad. Even If they don’t have it this year, they probably will have it next year.
its probably because they don't want teams getting burned out. Riot thinks long term so maybe by 2025 when the new calendar updates come in, teams will get more matches.
i thought FNS and Boaster said they were getting burnout from playing 1 match every week due to them prepping for it all the time.
But they only have to play 5 matches per league split. If they play 10 matches in the regular season per international league split, a team like FNATIC will be running out of steam by the 2nd IL playoffs.
I think it is so that teams won't face burnout to quickly this season since everything is tightly packed together. Maybe next year the 2025 season will have more matches. Leo Faria has stated before they are thinking long-term.
All good, u still got the second international league to play through. Also unless the group you are in is crazy stacked, if you managed to lose 3 matches in your own group, you probably weren't making it to an international event anyways. I do agree with you tho that the format is kinda wierd.
