Does GenG tick you off?

I had been rewatching the GenG vs SEN grand finals match when I noticed every time I continued watching the GenG players taunt I got increasingly more ticked off, which is ridiculous to say because that is the entire point of taunting, but hear me out for a moment. When I watch Loud or EDG or even DRX back in 2022 taunt, it just comes off as fun showmanship. When I see those players wave and smile and kiss their mouse and everything else it looks like they love it, and to me it adds so much to the arena and to the energy of both teams. But when I'm watching the GenG players do it, I'm praying on their downfall each time. ACTUALLY. It's something about the way they do it that is strangely "uncouth" to me, like for example munchkin giving the double thumbs up, or Lakia pointing at zekken on Split, it's just not fun to watch them do it and I'm sorry to the GenG fans out there but I can't help but get pissy about it. The only player I've never seen talk his shit on that team is Meteor, and normally it's who cares? but in this instance I like him for that and respect it, for the rest of the team though they can suck my balls.

I know some people share this sentiment too, but obviously I also realize there's a good amount of bias because I personally love the Sentinels echo chamber. So I'm curious if anyone outside also dislikes GenG for more or less similar reasons.

i dont mind it but it can come off as toxic at some points, e.g the lakia/texture sova ult thing but i think they dont really mean it as munchkin does some like actual thumbs up

no I think they’re funny and if you’re personally irritated by it it’s probably because you associate with sen to some degree making their taunts feel personal

zekken literally said on stream that the geng guys are all nice and that he loved the back and forth, there’s zero reason for a viewer to somehow be more annoyed than the players themselves

BTW — there’s nothing wrong with getting emotionally invested and being bothered by taunts or whatever. you should probably remember that your emotions aren’t reality tho. they’re just having fun and aren’t malicious at the end of the day
