the sovereign skins are so iconic, the original kill banner was perfect there was no reason to change it
if the new one is what the kill banner looked like i wouldn't have bought it in the first place

but in general riot shouldn't be able change skins after people have already purchased it
unless its objectively an upgrade like adding color variants to 1.0 skins not replacing something that was good with something worse
