He knew where it was, He took the risk anyway, He saw it being defused beyond half and didn't to do anything about it, Aswell as continued to play slow even after seeing it was being defused, and all you have said basically is "Its the planters fault" when he took the risk knowing where it was and watched it get defused.

The plant was messed up, normally it can be seen by heaven. But Karon found a little spot where he is hid from heaven while defusing. Bad plant and no one com'd that it wasnt planted for heaven which made him slow walk and not make it.
