i’ve seen people talk about the success of EMEA vs other regions’ viewership but the claim that the region is unprofitable is so stupid and unfounded

games are during the work week, if they were on the weekend it would be MUCH more similar to Americas (slightly lower still, NA + ES + BR is an insane market to beat)
EMEA may have less in raw numbers but they have WAY more devoted fans, i’ve never seen true passionate fps fans until i met EU CS fans
who tf cares about viewership, judge the gameplay instead you zoomer tiktok fried dopamine receptor freaks

I think EMEA is 1 or 2 teams regions based on fnatic and navi. NA has a lot of teams who can be succesful in this scene

if anything it’s riots fault for putting it during tuesday-friday. on fridays the viewership is way closer to the Americas viewership. but people using viewership to shit talk a region is beyond braindead

i believe emea would have WAY more viewers if the games were friday-monday

i meant as viewers/consumers of these regional leagues, why does viewership matter to you? you specifically? i have seen countless people use viewership as ammunition to shit talk EMEA in regards to the players and coaches and it’s so braindead

if you own an org or are an investor then sure, but #1 of my points explains why these numbers are misleading in the first place

it matters to me cuz i have suffered from it. how u ask?
in india 2 years ago valorant scene was thriving. there were 2 dominant teams global esports and velocity gaming. they were keeping the indian valo scene alive and they easily used to get 30-40k viewers even in t2-t3. but then GE got franchised and velocity gaming left valorant cuz of losses due to less sponsers. now the indian valo scene barely gets 10k views and that too being optimistic. the casters are shit the scene is dying. ik the t1 scene wont die in emea but due to less views the t2-t3 will be affected and overall it will affect the emea scene.

imma be honest, viewership isn’t what hurts indian valorant, it’s a symptom of the lack of money in Indian valorant. without GE and velocity, there’s pretty much nothing. appealing to the international fans is probably the best thing GE could’ve done for their longevity

more indian fans need to care about valorant for indian valorant to thrive and the orgs don’t do a good job at doing that bc they’re cheap as fuck
