i dont think the chamber nerf is why he fell off. Its obviously a part but i think its far more than that

^his stats from his last qualifier with andbox to an na challenger event.
he was beating out babybay, leaf, cryocells, koalanoob, will, wardell etc..

this was while playing jett and sage with some stinky teammates. he didnt even qualify putting up these numbers.

secondly, yay was still the best player on a tier 1 team after chamber nerf

^last game for c9 he had best performance on the team only playing nerfed chamber 1/3 maps

to say yay was a chamber merchant who was only good in one meta is lazy and wrong, he succeeded before AND after chamber meta
i think it fell apart when c9 dropped him and he couldnt find a decent team.

Dsg was the perfect storm to destroy any good players career.

after steel was let go i believe they had exalt igling?? hes a tier 3 level player at best and he was igling while playing reyna. that team was so terribly bad, they made Mad Lions look genuinely really good as Mad Lions were a real team and Dsg was just a complete mess

i think the pressure and criticism of being the guy everyone looked to on a doomed team got to him. all the anticipation about his move and all the impressions he got from any tweet he made mustve been stressful.

my reasoning for his falloff was also lazy, im just really thinking of stress and pressure to perform which can very well be wrong

all i know is it cant be chamber nerf and it cant be age or something as hes only 25

Finally, someone who remembers Andbox yay.

Yay fell off because of C9 dropping him, but not just C9's fault. I think he should have tried to find a better T2 team instead of DSG and he would have been in VCT Americas this year.

He can still come back.

That consensus is weirdly out of shape and wasn’t the reason why he’s failing. Yes, back on OpTic/Envy he had a great team that was able to set him up, but he was still making plays of his own (e.g. the sweet 4k vs The Guard on icebox, the ace vs The Guard on icebox again, yay’s 4k clutch with marshal vs Gambit, another 3k clutch with the marshal vs Gambit, and that ace vs Loud on fracture), his aim and mechanics was just perfect back in 2022; that’s why he got so much success.

No one was able to replace yay, not even ardiis could replace yay even with the god support he relatively had as well.

He plays a really good Jett. Chamber 1 trick and nerf is just an excuse. He's a really good player overrall regardless but he just fell off. End of story. Let him have fun over in "Asia" hes probably enjoying life over there more than Valorant.

tbh yays mechanics have diminished, you can just tell by looking at him. His prime was even before the chamber meta it was on that jett with the red crosshair. No one can touch that level of skill .

Mentality is the real issue here, but also because his old playstyle simply does not exist anymore and he has to come to terms with that while also trying to redefine himself for something else. DSG did not kill yay, DSG simply couldn't support him either, but DSG was more or less a sinking ship for everyone including toast anyways.

Also the c9 game is pretty irrelevant, being the best out of a team that got smacked by DRX is barely worth anything, and hardly tells the complete story. I just think he needs to completely get off the jett/opp role and pick up the sentinel role and grind it out and he'll be incredible.

i believe what he's saying here (mainly bc he's never made excuses and pretty much always owns up to it) just because there were so many odd things that game that weren't even like "ew that was messy" and more "wtf is going on"

anyways regarding his aim visibly looking worse than during andbox-nv-optic era

my real crackpot theory? after optic he started working with aimlabs and getting professional "aim coaching" from some voltaic guys. now i'm not saying aim training is bad or anything, i do it myself, but i think in his specific situation they either got him to untrain certain habits or lean into certain things that functionally made him worse
