As a pro Jett player

How can you be mechanically bad at raze..
Let's be real here, Raze isn't as hard of an agent to master. So is Jett, but for some reason pro Jett players are not that good at Raze on terms of movement and it sometimes looks like they've never double satcheled before.

Examples: Keiko (altho he isn't that bad), cNed, TenZ, qw1, yay, Meteor maybe, etc...

The point being, why are pros struggling with Raze movement. I see plat players who have better movement on Raze than them.

(I'm typing this out of pure boredom, so don't take it too seriously :3)

I disagree with you, I think raze movement is hard to actually master, look at Jinggg for example, he is a master of raze, you don't really see any other raze player in vct nearly as good as he is at raze.

I do think there’s different skills that each require which makes a player who can do both rare. Almost all the top raze players don’t play jett. The only two that you could say have as good a raze as jett and are also best in the world candidates are Aspas and Derke.

Jawg is pretty damn close. Ray4c is a raze one trick and easily the best raze to himself

imo i think its cuz when u dash ur usually dashing into your own smoke which gives u a sense of security to think about what to do next whereas ur a lot more vulnerable on raze which can affect them mentally i guess ??

It's the equivelant of asking a piano player to play the violin

Raze movement is more fluid and feel-based (timing your satchels, when to pop them, etc.), not rigid (either dash in or not). Even if you get the satchel right a better raze player can go through the same path as you did much faster by timing and angleing their satchels more efficiently

Plus since there's more places you can reach with raze satchels it also means the better raze players are the ones who can find better pathing onto the site and be able to capitalize the most from those positions, which a lot of jett players aren't used to playing

Plus on defense jett has always been more of a lurky agent that OPs a lot, so it's kind of a new playstyle for half the match for many of them

Maybe it's easy for me to say since I think my movement on Raze isn't that bad. So my mind is like "so when I have good raze movement, how do pros have worse movement than me" type thing. I hope I don't sound egoistic there.

You're not egoistic for believing that, there definitely are a lot of pros that have bad raze movement, and being a pro player doesn't automatically mean you're good at every agent right away (although they probably will still be able to perform well because of game sense + aim)

a really good example is watching Yay play raze 6 months ago vs now

I mean you have a point, but for me mastering Raze movement is hard. Let's be real, I'm a Raze main and i find it easy but some other pros with not that many hours on Raze might struggle and it's alright. They just need more time ig, playing more praccs with Raze, more rankeds. For example, we all know Derke is insanely good with both Jett and Raze but even if he's insane at Raze, his movement isn't that good as Jawgemo por example, who mains Raze almost since the beggining. That's my opinion.

I'm not saying that Raze movement is easy. But it should be somewhat more easy to understand for pros.

Raze movements are actually difficult tho. You may see a normal average ranked raze even in Plat elo have some good movement but I’m not sure how thats entirely gonna work in front of the competitive stage, besides I haven’t really seen any that good pro Raze besides Jinggg or even Jawgemo, and some of those players you mentioned don’t play Jett like other players (e.g. yay, cNed, Demon1), these players aren’t explosive and often rely on micro-adjustments to make up for their low sensitivity which is pretty bad for a Raze considering their intensive movement.

Aside from Jing and Jawgemo, there is not really anyone else in VCT that can do what they do.

You have Zekken and Leaf, who are strong Raze players, but they don’t do as much creative satcheling.

Xeppa is also really good and smooth too. But what you said are facts.

Raze movement is very unique to a tac shooter like valorant, where most of the existing pros primary experience is with CS. While jett movement can get very creative (i.e. something pre updraft nerf, aspas) it is generally sufficient to use the dash in one of two interactions, either entrying or as a proactive peeking tool. With raze, you must consider more regarding your flight path on entrying, as oftentimes you get deeper into a site. Additionally, while nearly all pros are familiar with the air strafing required in tac shooters like val and cs, applying them to a long distance movement is a different story.
