SEN fans will and should celebrate this win because:

  1. Thay have a titles-winning roster
  2. They beat the champions runner ups twice
  3. Huge confidence boost for the players
  4. Roles are fixed
  5. It's a 3-0
If you think this is just an off season tournament and it doesn't matter let me remind you that SEN lost the only off season tournament they played last year (tarik x ludwig) SEN sucked at everything thing even off season tournaments now they beat prx twice

and fnc lost to acend and geekay in an off season tournament and still won lockin.

100T won homeground but ended up in almost last place in vct americas.

off season results have little correlation to a teams performance in the actual season. Just like scrims.

umh... fnatic didn't have chronicle and they won the superdome regardless ☝🤓 (also the match agaisnt acend and geekay was a best of one, on the same map)

look at liquid instead then, they placed last at redbull home ground but did great in the regular season.

It could all just be “chance variations” in the end. But SEN has shown considerable improvements over their 2023 run. Lock In was a single elim and some teams have said they didn’t prep much or that rosters just came together, and FNC won, we know how good they played and made pretty good predictions on how far their run is going to be.

So you're saying that a team that went from winning nothing even losing to TSM to beating good teams is not an improvement?

#7

has nothing to do with improvement. You took my post way out of context.

as a SEN fan i still don't expect the team to win everything this year that's not realistic but at least it says we are improving
and 100T when they won RB homeground they weren't coming from a season with 0-5 and early elimination from lcq like SEN but they were an established team who won lcq and went to champions and beat fnatic there
but if your point is that winning this doesn't guarentee winning in the season then we agree but still it's a reason to celebrate

All I'm trying to say is that off season results don't matter that much when predicting a teams strength strength for the actual season.
They do indicate some level of strength in a team but as time has shown the results of these off season tournaments don't matter that much.

Do you agree with this and if not what parts?

#11

i agree with most of it. all i'm saying is SEN are now better than ever but it still not a GUARANTEE for success in the actual seaon but it's a guarantee they will do better than last season at least and that's enough for a SEN fan

I agree with what u said apart from the "it's a guarantee they will do better than last season at least"

Sen didn't verse any T1 NA teams and these teams could have improved even more than SEN but I do agree that sen will do better this year compared to last.

#13

where are T1 NA teams now ?
most of them don't have a full roster besides C9 and even if they do a new roster won't be as good as PRX or DRX yet

But also do you know why i think SEN is better here's some facts from AVL:

  1. in the grand finals they won 5/6 pistols and the one they lost they won the eco round next
  2. they almost always close out round you rarely see someone clutch against them
  3. they can win rounds when they are down in numbers
  4. they make comebacks (they rarely did before)
  5. im not sure but they maybe the team with most thrifties in the tournament
  6. the tournament was not easy team at all we are talking EDG, PRX, DRX, Liquid, T1 don't tell me they were expected to win it

eu supporter and fnc fan

SEN are clearly in form, and will continue to be so, as long as they don't lose their coach like 100T, they'll stay at the top for a while. definitely not the best in the world yet. well it depends which tournaments they play, if you play some showmatches, sure, that has little correlation. but against teams who had clearly prepared and were clearly trying, such as TL, T1, and DRX (ig you can say PRX are in a reduced form because they're in the middle of adjusting their roster), SEN dominated.

Confidence boost sure, Offseason events have no correlation to actual performance in regular season Lockin was not an offseason but still talon looked like absolute beast and turn out to be 2nd worst performing team. Heretics looked like they gonna damage Eu in offseason event and we all know what happened same with 100T. When teams will antistrat you and you don’t have suprises to pull it is a different ball game and can turn out anyway + transfer window is not even closed any team can pull out a demon1 Top2 is open ground.

So becoming that annoying sen fan once again to be humbled later is not good claiming Madrid just because of offseason is wild

well it depends on the tournament, and what happens in between. teams go downhill for a variety of reasons, had 100T remained in the same form they played at homeground 2022 then they would've done very well at lock//in and the season. however, mainly due to sgares leaving the team, they were not in the same form and so did not win. sure, teams do not necessarily try AS hard, but anyone with an ounce of understanding on what makes pro-teams good can see that SEN dominated pretty difficult competition. it's nothing to do with antistratting, the conditions will be the same at the start of the season next year as they are now. most of what won SEN this tournament was not "surprises" rather good synergy, teamplay, everyone being in form (something that we should trust will continue, given the calibre of their players), few mistakes and literally pioneering the development of the new breach meta on sunset lol.

but 100T lost their coach, this is literally false equivalence. if you look at how 100T played at champions, and their trajectory, it makes sense that with their coach they peaked and then with sgares' leaving they went downhill again. a lot of what made them great were prepared entire rounds, devised by gares, none of which their new guy has implemented with success.

They already lost sgares when they won homeground tho?

#37

true, but coaches don't have an immediate effect. when they leave their team it is not as if the team will instantly go to shit. most of sgares pre-planned rounds were still being played etc, his lasting impact on the players individual skill was still there, but by start of the new season this was dissipated due to antistratting, developments by other teams, and form decline.
