I understand that, considering how big LoL actually is.

But what imperial-hal achieved this year was absurd.

1st at apex 2023 championship (valorant terms = champs)
2nd at split 2 (like a masters event)
1st at split 1 (like a masters event)

Plus he mvp'd in both of their wins.
Phenomenal achievements and incredible individual performances.

for sure, imperial is also insane, but I don't think it's fair to compare, lol is significantly more competitive

At what point is faker just winning it because of who he is though?

Wasn't the best player on his team in lck split 1 (which they didn't even win)
Gumayusi was better an msi. There were a couple of other mid laners better than faker (t1 placed 3rd)
He was injured for half of lck 2.
It is only now at the worlds playoffs that T1 has become the top team in Korea and potentially the world.

Worlds is probably the only event this year that you could debatable call faker the best mid laner.

It doesn't matter if they weight champions more tho, leo still comes out on top, by nominating demon1 they arent just weighing champions more they are completely disregarding the rest of the year. I dont wanna be that guy but if leo was from the united states and demon1 was from sweden, we all know who would be nominated.

What is wrong with gunba?

Led the mayhem to their first OWL title in history.
Won another event (PRO-AM)
Placed top 3 in every single qualifier or event they played.
86% series winrate this year (30/35 games)

picking either gunba/potter/zonic/homme is pretty valid
