Pacific hot takes

1) The 2024 season will be terrible for T1. They're doing what GEs did this season,(Roaster shuffle according to maps) and everybody saw how miserably GEs failed this season. Even DRX was having problems with their sub player. According to Autumn, xccurate and rossy both will be in staring roaster, which is more concerning for the team considering they'll have to bench carpe (obv) and either izu or saya (if they bench k1ng, they're the absolute clowns). But benching Izu doesn't make sense, because then why did you sign him in the first place? So the most sensible option is sub saya and izu according to maps.
2) Bleed won't qualify for any international event (they might end up in the top 5) in the upcoming season because,Yay isn't the ideal replacement for juicy. This doesn't mean Yay is any less of a player, but APAC's playstyle is so different compared to Americas. Also, he can't play every dualist( of course he can learn and play; he's a pro player, blah blah...). Signing him was good for clout-chasing, but not so good for the team. Also excited to see egoist play.
3) PRX won't be as dominant as they were until this season. The reason is pretty obvious: there's no replacement for Jingg, and synergy between him, forsaken, Davai was a huge factor behind Prx's crazy run. Of course, Monyet is a good player, but it'll take time for him to get along with the team.
4) RRQ will be the second-best team after PRX. They were looking so good as the season was ending, and their signings for the 2024 season are huge W's. Jemkin was literally the best dualist in Ascension (and I'm pretty sure he'll dominate in VCT too). Also estrella was best player in Korean League and he performed significantly well in ascension.

So, I personally will rank the teams for 2024 season as,
PRX, RRQ, DRX, Bleed, Team Secret, Zeta Division, GES, Geng, T1,talon, DFM

I don't think so. First they let go their best player k1ng. Then they sign munchkin who had issues with players on previous team and if you see T1 vids you can see he's kinda arrogant so of course they'll be having synergy issues in future.

Bleed will be top 9-7 team.

Ge will be a mid table team

Geng will be top 3

Paper rex will be as good if not better. Monyet is a superstar.

If t1 bench k1ng, they won't make it to lan.

If drx, specially termi, lets foxy go back to slow sens and let's him play sentinel/ viper and build his confidence up, drx will be 1st seed to lan with foxy as the finals mvp

And lastly, the hottest take of all, Dfm finally gets a dub πŸ”₯

RRQ's peaks were pretty high last season, even though they also had some pretty bad games. They improved the roster and have some very skilled players, if they can become more consistent there is definitely a world where they become a top 3 team.

Based take, agree with all, well maybe except eith T1. I don't think T1 will be that bad, signing Rossy was just an overreaction and soon they'll probably bench him again after their horrible 3 first match and start climbing up. Top 5 and even top 3 is still realistic.

They have potential indeed, but I believe a few individuals on that team are holding back the entire team, given the quality pool in the PH region.

Talon making the worst moves possible in the off-season, go to create an apac team then choosing the worst players possible

For reals! I was surprised. They had a lot of good alternatives, such as foxy, ptc, kadoom, and cgrs. I don't believe any one country has as many outstanding player options, but they still picked with Governor and Lenne. I'm not sure what they were thinking.

Did you not watch Masters Tokyo and Champs by any chance? They were nowhere near to what they were in 2022. Clearly many teams found out how to counter their playstyle

#31

It'll still be good enough to comfortably beat most APAC teams and qualify to all international events.

Nowhere near? They went from 3rd in champs 2022 to 5-6th in 2023. Tokyo was only rough for them cause they didn't know wtf they were doing with their roster. Honestly, getting destroyed in Tokyo was actually probably a good thing, it showed them that 6 people rosters dont work and that they need to go into Champs with a set 5, which they did and they look alot better. They almost beat the best team in the world at Champs as well, just choked at the end against Fnatic.

They were third in champs 2022 where there was 16 teams in hot form including Optic, Loud, PRX, FPX. They beat FNC, FPX and went toe-to-toe against Optic in lower final. On the other hand in 2023 they got completely dominated in masters and had hot matchups in champs but still you can agree that they weren't at their full potential.

Don't get me wrong, 2022 was definitely still a better year for them. But saying that they were "nowhere near" as good in 2023 is massively exaggerating

Wym yay wont do well on bleed? they are either changing their playstyle as a team or yay will change as a player(with how mCe talked ab yay) i highly doubt they wouldnt change how they play or the success he brought optic when they let him cook and take more of the NA approach to playing. i think they can easily be top 3 Pacific considering no team made any major roster changes that could seriously change anything besides ur region getting Yay. but drx and prx will prolly stay top 2

#37

Fair take but I still think yay as a primary dualist isn't a viable option

I agree with your opinion on T1. They are picking up great players with good potential, but their plan just looks weird and confusing. I will always stand by the fact that 6 people rosters are a bad idea.

BLEED could have a year quite similar to what happened to PRX this season. They will most likely had a rocky start, they definately won't qualify for Madrid. But I could really easily see this team gel and work together well and they show a decent bit of potential. Although unlikely, I wouldn't count them out for Shanghai and they could be good in the LCQ.

Going from Jingg to anyone else was always going to be a downgrade. But given their situation and who was available, Monyet was a great and possibly their best choice and after some synergy building and playing together, they will most likely be back to top form and ready to compete against the best globally

I have nothing to say for RRQ i need to look into them a bit more

Fair take. I think geng will be a lot better than people realize.

Prx, rrq, DRX, geng, bleed

Everyone else.

  1. PRX ( can't wait to see monyet shut doubters down )
  2. DRX ( this feels like a right place for them )
  3. BLEED ( they already a franchised-material team even without yay)
  4. RRQ ( they were pretty good last season, now with better players, they can qualify to LAN maybe )
  5. T1 ( seems overcooked , but probably still a good team )
  6. GEN.G ( could be higher with good coaches staff )
  7. GE ( they might Surprise everyone )
  8. TS ( mediocre )
9-11. Talon, DFM & Zeta all no Hope.

i don't know why t1 feels the need of roster changes. they qualified to both master and champs, plays decent at both event, and shows growth as a team. But then they signed xccurate that never really proved he's franchise material and rossi, even though he's good, having 5 players that speak the same language is far better option imo
