Vlr rating system is not that bad

I was checking the stats of Champions and I noticed if I filtered to the playoffs only the vlr rating system had a surprisingly accurate top 10 for 2023.

While I would personally change 3 or so people, the fact that I fould understand an argument for everyone on the list shocked me.

I sorted by playoff games only (so no one would have inflated states against bad teams.)

3) Less
4) cauanzin
5) Leo
6) something
7) Alfa
8) jawg
9) Davai
10) Ethan

I am not saying the ratings are correct and I would place them in those spots in the top ten, but the fact that they are all top 10 players is hard to argue.

6/10 are from americas... Just goes to show who the superior region is

True, that actually looks accurate. Mfs on this site are gonna cry about fraudnatic players being too low though.

Everyone on that list were players from the top 4 teams at champs.
This is quite a small sample size of games. winning playoff games is very closely related to having a good rating.

It is also the case that those 4 teams were the top 4 teams of the year (with those 4 teams being the only ones to make a grand finals).

I can see an argument for 3 or so players being swapped, but then it would be more my opinion than hard facts.

What player who didn’t make playoffs would you call a top 10 player? And who would you remove to place them?

My top 10 consists only of players from FNC/EG/PRX/LOUD mainly for the reasons that they were the only teams to have a multiple top 3 placements in VCT 2023.

Some players like something/cauanzin had their strongest performances in champs, when you reflect on their entire year you may not think of them as highly.
Chronicle would be the opposite, as he had a mild performance at champs compared to his form in the rest of the year.
