I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make, of course the scene with millions of potential players, in which riot supports to no end with China, is better than a literal dead Valorant scene with around 0 proper esports teams, that riot pays no attention to whatsoever, where our best players have to play overseas
Like our literal ascension org had to be an unsigned one as the org that signed them (95x) literally left the scene right before
And despite all of this, our players still carry Chinese teams now and then (swerl and minimise on rng, Plixx on Weibo, maple on Weibo, autumn on Fpx, tixx)
if wee had the same population as china we would have the same amount of players too and as you said, riot supports it way more than other regions
Autumn is one of the best on fpx who are a very good CN team and is the only consistent player on fpx
i dont think thats entirely true...yes he crazy and has moments but definitely not that consistent
hes never done worse then -2 whereas everyone else on the team drops a -20 every tenth game or so. (apart from AAAAY who is just cracked)

The chinese teams are growing super fast ngl. EDG is still top but the top 8 is highly contested. The day a chinese team can consistently beat edg and overtake china is when the region reaches a new level.
I mean i hope some team managed to challenge them that's the only way they get better
its not the only way they can get better but it will help them for sure. Teams are getting pretty close to edg and theres probably only a 70% chance they win this next CN tournament
honestly the fact that EDG remains so dominant in the region despite the exponential growth in other teams is a huge kudos to EDG (no I am not biased i promise). I am really excited for upcoming internationals where we might get a feel for just how competitive teams like RA and FPX will be internationally.
yeah i mean they are a level ahead of the other chinese teams and shown great consistency its really hard to do that for so long in a game like valorant. I do hope that eventually we get teams close to their level and consistency then it be exciting to see international competition.
I don't think a team needs to overtake edg for the region to improve.
As long as there is always someone challenging them then they should stay improving.
The way the VCT model is really helps china.
Constant international exposure will always help a region to grow.
Also it's worth to mention that VCT pacific being in south korea makes scrims possible between CN and APAC.
last point is not possible since u have to be in korea to play on korean servers. Its a law that riot has to abide by. Its not like other places in which as long as your close enough you can play in that server.
This might be able to work if the teams ask riot to allow them to scrim on other servers
interesting.
but id expect there would be some work around.
like scriming in an apac server.
pretty sure chinese teams do scrim apac quite frequently.
what i was saying was more that china isn't that isolated.
they can scrim and learn from apac.
i think the team in korea might be able to scrim in other regions it might just be that you can only play on korean servers if ur in korea
