Ik we been talking about this for a while now, but I just wanted to ask why george and ds_santos don’t like the guy. He’s just doin his best, is it because he claims to be a reporter or journalist or what? Having more people reporting on leaks and stuff like that, while it may be a little bad for the big reporters individually (like the two mentioned earlier), it does nothing to detriment the community. Especially James’s posts and scrimbux does absolutely nothing but help the community as a whole and makes the off season 10 times more interesting. I’ve been following this situation to the best of my ability since it started, and I don’t get why they dislike him. Who gives a fuck if he calls himself a journalist or not? And if he is trying to be a journalist why not help him like I’ve heard other esports reporters have been doing (not sure of the names) instead of shitting on him? Or are they really just that selfish?

The problem a lot of "mainstream" journalists have with this kind of amateur content is the community reaction discrediting the long and difficult process it takes to produce actually trustworthy content and the confusion between the two. Its a similar battle they've had with the kind of "twitter journalism" produced by the likes of the Jake Luckys of the world. Trust takes months if not years to build and a single incident to destroy which is why professional investigative journalists spend days or weeks making sure they have multiple primary sources and working with editors that not only improve the writing but also guide the decision making process of whether something is publishable. The best investigative journalists have folders of unpublished reports (some that happened and some that didn't) that could have gotten them clicks, but were too risky to stake their reputation to.

george is just a shitty human so he's one thing. for the others like santos, they have spent so much time and received so little in return that when they see even the smallest inklings of popularity bubble up around someone else, they clamor to discredit and push them down
