No one has forgave him yet, but it's nice to hear that he actually heard our voices and didn't just ignore the community like many execs do. There is no way he is lying or else it would look even worse for him afterwards
It is a common trick, they're gonna say this while everyone is mad to appease people, when a good solution isn't found, people will have forgotten/outrage will have died down.

He is making false promises as a form of damage control. If he doesn't deliver, it will look far worse than simply standing by his word.
