CURRENT PROPOSED:

  1. Kick off (double elimination 11 team event)
  2. Masters madrid (8 team event, 2 from each vct)
  3. International stage 1 (VCT regular season?)
  4. Masters Shanghai (international event , undisclosed amount of teams)
  5. International stage 2 (VCT regular season?)
  6. Champions (top 4 teams from each region determined by an undisclosed points system)

IDEA:

  1. International stage 1 (VCT regular season?)
  2. Masters Madrid (8 team event, 2 from each vct)
  3. International stage 2 (VCT regular season?)
  4. Masters Shanghai (international event , undisclosed amount of teams)
  5. LCQ (8 teams, 1 team qual each region)
  6. Champions (3 from regular season points + 1 from lcq, for each league)

Further explanation:
Move IL stage 1 to the start of the year to guarantee that the top 2 teams from each region make masters.
Invite the top 3 teams based on points accumulated through the regular season to champions

LCQ: by inviting the top 3 regular season teams to champs, we can make this an 8 team event which can be seeded based on regular season results.
This removes majority of the bracket issues that kickoff would have.

By having an lcq between shanghai and champions this could also allow the top teams to have an appropriate rest period.

Yep, my approach to the VCT would be similar to yours. And if there's time-related issues, they could still remove the LCQ and simply have Champs be filled by teams based on the circuit points.
