Why is Champs 23’ feel worse than Champs 22’?

It feels like this year the quality of matches are a lot worse than last year, and the competitiveness of the overall game has gone down a lot. Last year the top 8 were full of matches like XSET vs LEV, DRX vs FNC, and even the group stages had some crazy games with FUR vs DRX, and the 100T vs FNC. It feels like this year all the games have just been very one sided, and no teams are really close to each other. The only memorable group match that I can think of is the NRG stomping and even that wasn’t even a good match because NRG just rolled over and died. Last year it felt like every single team had a chance to make a run at the title, but it just doesn’t feel the same this year. Maybe it’s just the nostalgia talking, but idk. Anyone else feel this way?

I think this champs has been fine, the top 6 teams seem pretty close in level.

Tokyo on the other hand, was an absolute disaster and probably the worst tournament in the games history... it sucks too because Tokyo is an awesome place and the people are great, its just we got extremely low quality matches that event.

Imo 2023 looks way better, more competitive and insane run for LOUD until now

This year, almost everyone (top 6 at least) looks like contenders. Pretty close match from everyone

last year champs and 2022 overall was mainly chamber running down the meta and its so boring tbh

2023 the best Champs so far and probably Top 3 LAN in Valorant too

I feel like there was a bunch of great storylines for the LCQs. On top of that, big upsets in the groupstage. New faces, eg looking to rebuke their haters and do well at Champs, all the pressure on fnatic to make the trifecta for the year. Pretty crazy tournament.
