I'm curious as to why FNC, PRX and EG stand out this much from the rest of the crowd. While a part of it is attributable to mechanical and calling skills, I wonder if role stability actually has a much bigger part to play as well.

Because if you look at TL, NRG and NaVi, they're all teams that theoretically should be insane, but have all flopped. Something I've noticed is that they have a propensity to put people on random off roles to round out comps, like Sayf on Breach, Cned/Ardiis on Sage etc, when in reality they're not that flexible (and in the case of Ardiis him not hitting his shots, but that's beside the point)

On the other hand, FNC, PRX and EG all have one mega flexible player that can round out comps. FNC has chronicle, PRX has Forsaken and half of EG can play an off role very effectively.

Interested to hear what other people think of this.

Synergy plays a big role too....some people just work better together than others

FNC PRX and Eg have all 5 people that can shoot heads.. in NRG you have FNS, Navi you have TL, and TL there’s soulcas… even DRX has all 5 crisp Aimers that’s why they stand out

I really hope we can see DRX face Fnatic. I wonder how close they can get

Copenhagen was already a pretty close game if Mistic and Enz0 didnt completely beef that postplant on Ascent. This is gonna be a banger.

PRX doesn’t have Just Forsaken but D4vai as well. Bro can play sentinel initiator controller in some maps.

Really hard to put into words, but your point on the top 3 having extremely flexible players is valid

not really just the fact that they have flexible players because giants has 5 tbh, but also the fact their coaching staff and igls are pretty good and has adapted their gameplans pretty good on the teams

obviously aim-wise they're better but more so than flexible players, they respect comfort picks more. By this, I mean they trust their player's roles on off comps. A simple example is, C0M sova on fracture, they didnt force him into a stronger initiator. They built around him. They dont go for a better "meta" comp, they go for a "comfort" comp. A bad example of this is, nAts being put on viper/KJ and being underwhelming while he popped off on ascent with cypher during EMEA league.

If you're that good at an agent, you need to have an IGL or a coach who trusts you to be better than the "meta" opponent they have. He got pressured into viper/KJ on maps he always played cypher on. The top 3 teams you mentioned all trust everyone in their roles (at the moment) while the other teams dont, imo.

Individual flexibility, individual game sense, cracked aim, and team strats. Those 3 teams do all of those very well
